I’m somewhat upset about the fact that I’ll be forced to pull for Sunday in character banners in Honkai: Star Rail 2.7, which should start soon.

Phase 1 banners of the patch will already bring Sunday to the roster. As a 5-star Imaginary character who follows the Path of the Harmony, Sunday will be a unit in team comps, confirming the previous leaks about his role and abilities leading up to his official announcement. As most characters on the Path of the Harmony, Sunday will buff his allies, allowing them to deal more damage to opponents and forward their actions. With Sunday in Honkai: Star Rail, players can improve the performance of their teams, but there’s one aspect of his kit that will stand out.

Sunday’s Kit Seems Like That Of An Ordinary Harmony Character In Honkai: Star Rail

The Character Can Grant Offensive Buffs & Help Restore Energy

Overall, Sunday’s ing abilities seem somewhat generic when put side-by-side with the kits of other Harmony characters. With his Skill, Sunday allows a target ally to immediately take action and, in doing so, boosts the DMG they deal. Furthermore, if the target ally has a summon, the DMG dealt is further boosted for two turns. If Sunday uses his Skill on a Harmony ally, they do not take immediate action. Additionally, if Sunday’s Skill is used on a Beatified ally, which can be reached via Sunday’s Ultimate, the team recovers a Skill Point in Honkai: Star Rail.

Honkai Star Rail 3.0 Leaks Tease Major Character Banner Update

A new leak about Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 has emerged, hinting at what may be a major and promidate to the duration of character banners.

With his Ultimate, Sunday restores a portion of a target ally’s Energy and turns them and their summon into The Beatified. Those designated as Beatified have their CRIT DMG increased by an amount equal to a percentage of Sunday’s CRIT DMG plus a fixed value. The Beatified lasts for three turns, and it counts down by one at the start of Sunday’s each turn. With his Talent, Sunday’s Skill also increases the target ally’s CRIT Rate by 25% for three turns. What makes Sunday stand out from other characters in Honkai: Star Rail is his ability to target summons.

Sunday’s ive Traces boost the Energy restored for allies and himself, while also allowing him to dispel an ally’s debuff with his Skill.

Sunday’s Buffs To Remembrance May Be Comparable To Ruan Mei’s Buffs To Super Break DMG In Honkai: Star Rail

Pulling For Sunday May Be Necessity To Keep Up With The New Path

By targeting summons and even giving extra offensive bonuses to allies who have summons on the field, Sunday becomes a prime for the Path of the Remembrance, which will be released in Version 3.0. The next playable Path’s main mechanic across characters should be summoning allies called memosprites onto the field. For now, Aglaea and the Remembrance Trailblazer are confirmed to be the first Remembrance characters in the game. The introduction of the Remembrance Path should shake the gameplay meta significantly with its new mechanics in Honkai: Star Rail, and that’s where pulling for Sunday becomes an unpleasant necessity.

All Confirmed & Leaked Honkai: Star Rail Character Banners From Versions 3.0 Through 3.2

While HoYoverse has confirmed two new characters for Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, four other 5-star units have been leaked for Versions 3.1 and 3.2.

Sunday’s kit will be the turning point for team comps with Remembrance characters at the forefront. While the exact nature of Aglaea and the Remembrance Trailblazer’s respective gameplay kits have yet to be adequately leaked, it is undeniable that Sunday will not only be able to buff these characters, but increase the amount of buffs he provides simply because Remembrance characters will have a summon on the field. The unpleasantness does not lie in his kit, but in how dependent Remembrance may be on Sunday, be that Aglaea or the Remembrance Trailblazer in Honkai: Star Rail.

Since the initial leaks mentioned he would become a playable character, I didn’t plan on pulling for Sunday. His design isn’t one that sufficiently entices me and his role as a unit is already well-covered by a large number of characters in my playable roster, from Ruan Mei to Sparkle, for example. However, I’m excited about how the Remembrance Path will play out and I feel like I will only truly enjoy it if I have Sunday ing the new characters in my team comp, which goes against my desire to skip his banner in Honkai: Star Rail 2.7.

Honkai Star Rail 3.0 Leaks: The Herta's Gameplay Kit May Be Clearer Than Ever

Leaks about 5-star Herta in Honkai: Star Rail have described her gameplay kit, showing her abilities as what seems like a main DPS in team comps.

My big concern with Sunday is that he will be what Ruan Mei was for the Super Break DMG mechanic this year. Ruan Mei was released before Version 2.0 and her gameplay kit immediately stood out from other s in the game – at that point, I was still using the 4-star Tingyun as the main for most of my team comps. Ruan Mei came as a breath of fresh air, which is why I pulled for her in the first place.

I was extremely pleased to see that my early investment in Ruan Mei led to an outstanding performance once Super Break DMG was introduced with the Harmony Trailblazer in Honkai: Star Rail. When both are paired, they can hypercarry DPS units focused on Break DMG for a surprising amount of damage output against enemies. These releases revolutionized the gameplay meta and drastically altered how we engaged in combat.

Team comps with Firefly or Boothill ed by Ruan Mei and the Harmony Trailblazer became a staple across multiple activities, especially those with tough bosses.

I’m expecting Remembrance to do exactly what Super Break did this year, which was to shake up the meta and offer new team comp possibilities based on a new mechanic. The only issue here is that I feel like I will only keep up with the game if I pull for Sunday, which is precisely what I didn’t want to do. In fact, Version 2.7 would be a patch in which I was planning on farming Stellar Jade and keeping large reserves of the currency lying in wait for the release of the new Amphoreus characters in Honkai: Star Rail.

The design for Castorice in Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 has allegedly leaked, but it already has a major problem when it comes to the character’s outfit.

As displeased as I am with feeling forced to pull for a character I still don’t want, I feel like having Sunday as a in my roster will truly pay off when the Remembrance Path is introduced next year. I might not get an immediate feeling of having made a good investment in Version 3.0 because I may fail to pull for Aglaea, for example, but there are leaks talking about Castorice being a Remembrance character, too, and I’m sure more Remembrance units will be released gradually as Honkai: Star Rail pushes into its third year and beyond.
