The long-rumored character skins in March 7th (Hunt) in Honkai: Star Rail, who swaps outfits when she changes Paths.
Other than this Path-related outfit, more alternative skins have been previously teased by HoYoverse. Before her Swordmaster outfit, March 7th temporarily wore a special dress during the Jolted Awake From a Winter Dream. Aside from the Astral Express member, the Stellaron Hunter Kafka has also been seen without her traditional jacket during the Xianzhou Luofu story arc. There have been numerous mentions of a cosmetic-exclusive outfit for March 7th and a character skin for Kafka in Honkai: Star Rail, but HoYoverse has yet to tease more details. Nevertheless, new leaks hint at skins arriving soon.
Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 Beta Test Leaks Reveal More Details About Character Skins
Skins May Be 4-Star Items, According To The Leaks
According to information provided by the leaker known as Kazusa, which was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on character outfits in Honkai: Star Rail will be 4-star.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.0's Leaked Free Character Selector Is The Worst Gift In A While
Players may be able to claim a free character in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, but the leaked selection of characters offered in the gift is terrible.
As seen in the leak, the game has variables for outfits like “AvatarSkinName,” “AvatarSkinStory,” and “AvatarSkinSynopsis,” which may refer to the skin’s title, description/backstory, and summary. Genshin Impact has these elements in each skin, so the rumored skin system in the turn-based RPG may be molded around the one used in the action RPG. Another interesting aspect of the leak is that there may be different skins for characters depending on the Path they follow; March 7th being Preservation and Hunt could see her have new skins that she can only equip in one of her two forms, for example.
The leak mentions that the datamined “MultiPathDressedSkinID” term is what hints at this variation of skins based on a character’s multiple Paths in Honkai: Star Rail.
Character Skins Will Likely Not Be Added In Honkai: Star Rail 3.0
The System Is Rumored To Still Be A Work In Progress
In addition to the general information about the rumored skin system that is in development for a future patch, the leaker also doubles down on the rumors that Kafka may gain a new outfit. Kazusa reinforces that during the Version 2.5 beta tests, HoYoverse hinted at the Stellaron Hunter being the first to get a skin via a coding term that allegedly translates to “test_not_yet_created.” As such, Kafka could be the first to have an alternative and cosmetic-exclusive outfit, even if has yet to be tested before an official implementation in a future Honkai: Star Rail update.

Honkai Star Rail 3.0 Leaks: How Much Stellar Jade Is Available In The First Amphoreus Update
Based on the leaks for Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 so far, this is what you can expect in of free Stellar Jade during the next big update to the RPG.
The presence of new skin-related coding in the Version 3.0 beta tests does not mean that this will appear in Version 3.0, specifically. Despite being tested using the next update’s content, it is very likely that the skin system and any related outfits that may come with it will only be introduced in a future update. This is mainly because, as stated by the leaker, the skin system is still a work in progress and it hasn’t leaked for Version 3.0. The contents for the patch, such as the images of Amphoreus in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, have all leaked.
With no leaked images of outfits less than a month before the patch’s arrival, it’s unlikely that skins will be introduced as early as Version 3.0. For now, the focus is most likely on the gameplay design for new characters, the Remembrance Path, and Amphoreus as a whole. However, as much as leaks should always be considered with caution, the updates about skins seem promising for the game’s third year of content, in addition to the fact that character skins are a logical next step for a customizable experience in a game like Honkai: Star Rail.
