New Amphoreus characters in Honkai: Star Rail.
In addition to the official teasers, several leaks are starting to emerge as the beta tests for Version 3.0 have also begun. The leaks have already started detailing the gameplay kits for The Herta, Aglaea, and the Remembrance Trailblazer, for instance, as well as the initial designs of Amphoreus, the next destination players will visit. There have even been rumors of a massive change to banners in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, which should make pulling for new units more pleasant. Now, there have been leaks about some free rewards in the patch, too.
Leaked Gift For Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 May Grant Free Pulls & A Special Item
The Leaked Event Is Compared To Version 2.5’s Gift Of Comet
While players are accustomed to gifts with every new patch, such as the 10 Star Rail Special es from the Gift of Odyssey event, there may be another gift in Version 3.0. According to information from the leaker known as HomDGCat, players will have another extra event that should grant them 10 Star Rail Special es and one Variable Die. The leak, which was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Stellar Jade in Honkai: Star Rail.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 Leaks Show Remembrance Trailblazer Will Thrive With The Herta
New details about the Remembrance Trailblazer in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 have leaked and they may work well with The Herta in team comps.
If the leak is true and the event is similar to Version 2.5’s Gift of Comet, players will gain access to these leaked rewards upon logging in – they will only need to claim them from the event’s page. The extra 10 pulls from the limited-time banners in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 are extremely appreciated, especially as they stack with the 10 pulls that should come from the regular Gift of Odyssey event. However, what truly sticks out is the mention of a free Variable Diee. HoYoverse has briefly introduced this as one of the new mechanics in Version 3.0.
What Variable Dice Do In Honkai: Star Rail & Why They’re So Valuable
The New Item Will Be Introduced In Version 3.0
Announced by the developer during the Version 2.7 livestream, Variable Dice is a new item type arriving with Version 3.0. It will allow 5-star Relics at level 15 to have their sub-stat enhancements rerolled. If players level up a good offensive body piece with CRIT Rate but with poor sub-stats, such as a high DEF%, they can consume a Variable Die to reroll. The item does not swap the existing sub-stats present on a Relic piece in Honkai: Star Rail, but the leveling distribution across sub-stats. With Variable Dice, the DEF sub-stat could be lowered and ATK increased, for example.

I'm Upset I'll Have To Pull For Sunday In Honkai: Star Rail 2.7
The official information about Sunday’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail 2.7 has me thinking about pulling for him, despite not wanting to do that.
Much like Self-Modeling Resin, which allows players to craft Relics and Ornaments with their desired main stats, Variable Dice should be harder to obtain – either locked by Battle progression, selected limited-time events, or both. Nevertheless, the item adds a new depth to Relic-crafting, which is much appreciated as obtaining perfect Relics for characters is extremely difficult naturally. In turn, this should make building characters in Honkai: Star Rail more pleasant, as players have a chance at further optimizing their stats.
Because of how hard it can be to drop a perfect Relic with the ideal stat and sub-stats, and the regular disappointment of unlocking terrible sub-stats while leveling up the Relic piece, it’s common for players to leave a character with a less-than-ideal Relic. The piece is not necessarily bad, as it provides good stat increases, but it could be further optimized with more investment into a specific stat the character uses rather than one that doesn’t add much to their kit.
DEF doesn’t do much for Acheron’s build in Honkai: Star Rail, for example, so having that as a high sub-stat in a Relic piece is a waste of potential stat increases.
If the recent leak is true, players will be lucky to receive a free Variable Die to start understanding the mechanic in a practical sense and, possibly, fine-tune a character they left in a suboptimal state beforehand. As reliable as the leak may seem, it should still be considered with caution, as the information may be incorrect or incomplete. Nevertheless, HoYoverse has proven itself to be extremely generous with Honkai: Star Rail players, so a free Variable Die in Version 3.0 does not sound like an absurd statement.
