Quick Links
Using the best Anaxa builds in Anaxa’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail can help you prepare the field for the rest of the team.
Anaxa’s ability to inflict new Weaknesses is quite unique – while Silver Wolf can do that with her Skill, Anaxa’s Weakness application occurs to all enemies at once thanks to his alignment to the Erudition, which makes him a huge powercreep to the Stellaron Hunter. Even though the widespread Weakness infliction is the most notable aspect of his kit, Anaxa’s potential as a DPS shouldn’t be overlooked, as he can deal heavy loads of damage when used in hypercarry teams or aided by The Herta’s team in Honkai: Star Rail.
Best Light Cones For Anaxa
You Have A Few F2P Alternatives To Choose From
To start working on Anaxa’s build, you’ll first need to find a usable Light Cone for him. The best Light Cone for Anaxa is Life Should Be Cast To Flames, his signature 5-star Light Cone. The weapon’s ability sees that, when the ’s turn starts, they regenerate 10 Energy. Additionally, if the enemy target has a Weakness implanted by the , the Light Cone increases the ’s DMG dealt to it by 60%. When an enemy target gets attacked by the , the decreases the target’s DEF by 12% for two turns. The same types of effects can’t stack.
The table below lists the best builds for Anaxa in Honkai: Star Rail, including Light Cone recommendations, strongest Relics and Ornaments, ideal stats, and more:

Life Should Be Cast to Flames is perfect for Anaxa because it gives him extra Energy Regeneration and plays right into his Weakness application mechanics. If you don’t have access to his best 5-star Light Cone, you can use Into the Unreachable Veil, The Herta’s signature 5-star Light Cone. Into the Unreachable Veil increases the ’s CRIT Rate by 12%, and when they use Ultimate, it increases the Skill and Ultimate DMG dealt by the wearer by 60% for three turns. After they use Ultimate, if the Ultimate consumed 140 or more Energy, they recover 1 Skill Point.
If neither 5-star Light Cone is an option, I recommend using the 4-star The Great Cosmic Enterprise Light Cone. This is the free event Light Cone from Honkai: Star Rail 3.2. With it, the ’s ATK is increased by 8% (16% at S5). For every different Weakness Type an enemy target has, it increases the DMG dealt to it by the by 4% (8% at S5). Up to a maximum of seven different Weakness Types can be considered for this effect.
Practically speaking, if Anaxa is to strike an enemy with seven Weaknesses, he’ll deal 56% more DMG to it via the Light Cone’s effect.
Today Is Another Peaceful Day is another 4-star Light Cone option for Anaxa. The battle -exclusive Light Cone’s effects see that, after entering battle, it increases the ’s DMG based on their Max Energy. DMG increases by 0.20% per point of Energy, up to 160 Energy (at S1). Alternatively, you can use the F2P 4-star Light Cone The Day The Cosmos Fell.
You can purchase The Day The Cosmos Fell from the Forgotten Hall Store, making it easier to get it to S5.
It increases the 's ATK by 16% (24% at S5). When the wearer uses an attack and at least 2 attacked enemies have the corresponding Weakness, the 's CRIT DMG increases by 20% (40% at S5), lasting for two turns in Honkai: Star Rail.
Best Relics, Ornaments, & Stats For Anaxa
The Character Needs Offensive Stats
The next step is finding Anaxa’s ideal Relic set. The two-piece bonus increases the ’s Quantum DMG by 10%, which is completely dispensable. Its four-piece bonus, however, is the game-changer: when the deals DMG to the target opponent, they ignore 10% DEF. If the target enemy has Quantum Weakness, the additionally ignores 10% DEF. Because Anaxa’s kit will see him consistently inflict Weaknesses in Honkai: Star Rail, it’s likely he could always ignore 20% DEF.
Alternatively, you could use Scholar Lost in Erudition. Its two-piece bonus increases the ’s CRIT Rate by 8%. With four pieces, it increases DMG dealt by Ultimate and Skill by 20% – additionally, after using Ultimate, the DMG dealt by the next Skill is increased by 25%.
Regarding Ornaments, the best Planar Ornament set for Anaxa is Rutilant Arena. With the set’s two-piece bonus, the ’s CRIT Rate is increased by 8%. Furthermore, when the ’s CRIT Rate reaches 70% or higher, their Basic Attack and Skill DMG increases by 20%.
When farming Relics and Ornaments, stat distribution is extremely important for Anaxa. One of his most important stats is CRIT Rate, so you should aim for around 80% or higher, if possible (though it should be at least 70% to trigger Rutilant Arena’s effects). CRIT DMG is also important, so try to get it over 100% – Anaxa will gain extra CRIT DMG during combat via one of his ives. You should also improve Anaxa’s ATK and SPD. Bump Anaxa’s SPD to around 135 – or at least one point over the team’s advance character in Honkai: Star Rail.
Best Team Comps For Anaxa
The Character Is Versatile
Anaxa is a very versatile DPS for various hypercarry team comps, and he can even work in dual DPS parties. However, his performance can be significantly optimized with the proper teammates. In hypercarry teams, using s that increase Anaxa’s damage output and make him take action more often are great, like Sunday and Robin in Honkai: Star Rail. Alternatively, in dual DPS team comps, Anaxa works particularly well with The Herta, as they are both Erudition units that can help each other.
The table below lists some team comp suggestions for Anaxa:

If you don’t have the recommended characters, look for s who boost offensive stats like CRIT and ATK, and that can help Anaxa restore Energy or attack more frequently. In a F2P scenario, you will want to use the Remembrance Trailblazer, who is arguably one of the most reliable free units for the current meta, who can buff Anaxa in great ways. You can also use Asta, as outdated as she is, to help shred opponents’ Toughness bars and improve the number of Weakness Break instances that are triggered in Honkai: Star Rail.
Skill (Trace) Priority For Anaxa
The Erudition Character’s Skill & Talent Are The Top Priority
When leveling up his abilities, prioritize upgrading Anaxa’s Skill and Talent simultaneously, as these are the core aspects of his kit. Soon after, you should upgrade Anaxa’s Ultimate, which is also a big part of his kit as a DPS. While not as much of a priority as the rest, his Basic Attack shouldn’t be overlooked either. Every so often, especially considering skill point management, Anaxa may have to use his Basic Attack. As such, consider this after you farm Anaxa’s materials in Honkai: Star Rail.

After Seeing The Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 Leaks, I'm Convinced Pulling For Characters Will Never Be The Same
A new Star Rail Special system may be introduced with Honkai: Star Rail 3.3, and players may never need to purchase Oneiric Shards again.
Overall, Anaxa’s build is somewhat easy to achieve, though obtaining the proper stats may be troublesome. Even so, Anaxa can prove to be a valuable DPS for various types of team comps and, especially in endgame activities, can be a useful character to make strong enemies more vulnerable to the rest of the team’s attacks, improving your odds of maxing out the challenges in Honkai: Star Rail.
