While Version 1.1 did not bring in any new main story missions, thus temporarily halting the campaign, the update is making up for it with many new planned events. All the Honkai: Star Rail 1.1 events grant multiple rewards, including leveling materials and even Stellar Jade. One of the events is responsible for rewarding players with the free 4-star Light Cone Before The Tutorial Mission Starts. This Light Cone can only be obtained through the time-limited event and, once it is over, it will become impossible to acquire the weapon or its Superimposition materials, which are needed for upgrading.
How To Get Before The Tutorial Mission Starts In Honkai: Star Rail For Free
To get the free Before The Tutorial Mission Starts Light Cone in Honkai: Star Rail 1.1, players have to participate in the event known as Starhunt Game. The event is expected to last until June 19, so players have until that date to claim the rewards. The Starhunt Game event has two distinct modes: the Story Mode, which offers the missions that the players will be investigating inside Herta Space Station, and the Arcade Challenge, which is composed of additional challenges for the chance of obtaining additional rewards. The Light Cone is a prize that is exclusively obtained from the Story Mode of Starhunt Game.
In the event’s in-game page in the Travel Log, players can check how many days and hours are left until the Starhunt Game event is over.
The Light Cone is locked behind the collection of eight different graffitis that players encounter exclusively in the Story Mode. The Story Mode is, essentially, Starhunt Game’s campaign. To start playing the mission called “Punklorde Mentality”, which eventually grants the Before The Tutorial Mission Starts Light Cone for free in Honkai: Star Rail 1.1, players will have to answer a text message from Arlan. He mentions that he wants to personally thank the Trailblazer for their role in saving him when the Antimatter Legion attacked Herta Space Station, so players need to go meet him in the area’s Base Zone.
Finding new graffitis in the Arcade Mode will not count towards the goal and, therefore, does not help in obtaining the Before The Tutorial Mission Starts Light Cone.
After this, players will head over to the initial starting zone to welcome Honkai: Star Rail’s Screwllum, who finally makes his debut. Once Screwllum leaves to meet up with Herta, the Trailblazer needs to talk to Leonard and, with the researcher, start investigating some digital graffiti spread across the Space Station by Silver Wolf. After players have completed these tutorial objectives, they can continue the “Punklorde Mentality” quest in Honkai: Star Rail 1.1 to obtain the Before The Tutorial Mission Starts Light Cone. This requires that they move to Herta’s Office and talk to Screwllum.
After a short cutscene that features an angry Herta, Screwllum will inform the Trailblazer that he needs to run a variant of the Simulated Universe to better understand Silver Wolf’s motives. This activity is at level 68, so players should consider getting up to speed with the campaign and leveling their characters up to 70 before starting it. Nevertheless, the fights inside this scripted version of Simulated Universe are quite easy to get through and do not present much of a challenge.
Players need to use a trial version of Silver Wolf in this activity, so it is best to consider her as the team’s sub-DPS and make use of her Skill so that she can add an extra weakness against opponents.
After the boss fight is dealt with and the Simulated Universe is concluded in Honkai: Star Rail 1.1’s Starhunt Game event, players will witness the outcome of the Story Mode. Once the entire story is concluded, they will have encountered all eight pieces of graffitis since they scanned them in order to progress through the quest. The final step is accessing the event’s page in the Travel Log and clicking on the Story Mode button to add the graffiti and complete the Before The Tutorial Mission Starts Light Cone. The item will be automatically added to the inventory.
How To Upgrade Before The Tutorial Mission Starts In Honkai: Star Rail
Even after players obtain the free Light Cone in Honkai: Star Rail 1.1, they should continue playing the Starhunt Game in order to upgrade Before Tutorial Mission Starts. To level up the item, the regular materials can be used: Aether and other Light Cones. To Superimpose the Light Cone to the maximum level, however, players need an item called Lil’ Twisty Bubble Gum. This is an event-exclusive item that can only be obtained during Starhunt Game.
Players can buy up to four of these items, and each one costs 300x Always Smiling. This currency is also event-exclusive and can be obtained by completing the different goals in Starhunt Game. Although the Story Mode does provide players with a 300x, players will need to complete objectives in the Arcade Mode in order to get enough to buy all the Superimposition Materials for Before The Tutorial Mission Starts in Honkai: Star Rail 1.1. This will take players all around Herta Space Station to scan graffiti and different objects.
It is fairly easy to obtain all the necessary Always Smiling currency to buy all four Lil’ Twisty Bubble Gum for the Light Cone.
The remainder of the Always Smiling currency can be used to buy additional items in the event shop, including 1x Tracks of Destiny, 15x Void Cast Iron, 10x Traveler’s Guide, various Trace Materials, and more. The Starhunt Game in Honkai: Star Rail 1.1 is extremely easy and quick to max out, and the Before The Tutorial Mission Starts Light Cone is an excellent reward for such an effortlessly grindable event.
