Leveling and ascending Blade in Blade is playable with Honkai: Star Rail 1.2. The Stellaron Hunter uses Wind as his main element, as follows the Path of the Destruction. Blade is a DPS character who relies on HP loss to intensify the power of his regular attacks, making him a double-edged sword to wield, but one that is effective in wiping out opponents and withstanding longer battles.

To be able to take full advantage of the character, however, players will need to farm in order to get the materials required for Blade’s ascension and Talent upgrades in Honkai: Star Rail. Some of the items may have been pre-farmed prior to the character’s release, but there are two sets of items for Blade that were only introduced with Version 1.2. This means that players will have to farm and use a significant amount of Trailblaze Power after Blade’s release to get all the necessary resources to take him to the maximum level.

Ascension Materials To Farm For Blade In Honkai: Star Rail

Some of the main materials needed for ascending Blade are the Immortal Scionette and its evolutions. This item is exclusive to the Xianzhou Luofu and can be tricky to obtain. Immortal Scionette and its evolved forms, Immortal Aeroblossom and Immortal Lumintwig, respectively, drop from Mara-Struck Soldiers, which can be found on the Luofu maps, like Cloudford and Stargazer Navalia – players who farmed materials for Jing Yuan in Honkai: Star Rail may have a few leftovers.

As Blade’s level rises, players will be required to have Immortal Scionette’s evolved forms to continue ascending him – the Omni-Synthesizer can transform 3x Scionettes into 1x Aeroblossom, and 3x Aeroblossoms into 1x Lumintwig.

The second important type of material needed to ascend Blade in Honkai: Star Rail is called Ascendant Debris. This item drops from the new Stagnant Shadow challenge against The Ascended, which can be found on the new Alchemy Commission map. Players will need a fair number of Ascendant Debris to get Blade to level 80, the current level cap in the game, so they will need to farm this Stagnant Shadow a few times – if they do not have Fuel to spare, it may take a few days to obtain all 65x Ascendant Debris. The table below lists all the necessary items for Blade’s full ascension, according to Game8:

Aside from the materials themselves, players will also need a significant amount of Credits and EXP materials to get Blade to level 80 in Honkai: Star Rail. The materials required to ascend him are not easy to obtain at an early level, so if players are still not up-to-date with the campaign, they should focus on catching up with the main story and only then start farming materials for Blade.

As is the case with any character in the game, players will get a free Star Rail after Blade’s first, third, and fifth ascensions, for a total of 3x Star Rail .

Materials Needed For Blade’s Traces (Abilities) In Honkai: Star Rail

After players have adequately ascended and leveled the character to 80, players can start focusing on farming the materials needed for Blade’s Traces in Honkai: Star Rail. Traces are the game’s official term for his abilities. Leveling these skills is as important as leveling the character himself, so players should get ready for more farming. Luckily, some of the primary materials for his Traces are Immortal Scionette and its evolutions. These items can be gathered abundantly when farming for his ascension, so players need to continue the farming process for a while longer. This item also comes from Assignments, Luofu’s world shop, and the Embers Exchange.

To fully level all of Blade’s Traces in Honkai: Star Rail, players will also have to gather a Destruction-exclusive item called Shattered Blade, and its evolutions, Lifeless Blade and Worldbreaker Blade, respectively. This item can be acquired from Embers Exchange and Jarilo-VI’s and Herta Space Station’s world shops, but its main source is from the Calyx (Crimson): Bud of Destruction, located in the Storage Zone, on Herta Space Station. The challenge is quite easy to beat, but it will be necessary to run the domain dozens of times. The table below lists all the materials required to completely level Blade’s Traces, according to Game8:

The final levels of Blade’s Traces will require Tracks of Destiny, a rare material that can be obtained from limited-time events, Nameless Honor, Herta’s Simulated Universe, and monthly offers in the Embers Exchange. Blade will also require a new material in Honkai: Star Rail, called Regret of Infinite Ochema.

This material is also introduced in Version 1.2 and is the reward for the weekly Echo of War boss fight against Phantylia, the Undying. In order to challenge her for Regret of Infinite Ochema drops, players will have to first unlock her battle by beating her in the Honkai: Star Rail 1.2 story missions.

Ascending and leveling Blade to 80 is an extensive and costly endeavor, and getting his Traces to the maximum level only adds to the expenses. Nevertheless, it is worth it. Despite being tricky to master due to how he loses HP to boost his powers, Blade is one of the best DPS characters in Honkai: Star Rail, and any player lucky enough to obtain him should consider maxing him out.
