Honkai: Star Rail 1.2 story quests, but later becomes a weekly Echo of War boss fight, which players will be prompted to face multiple times in order to fully upgrade the talents of certain characters, such as Blade and Kafka. Like other major bosses, Phantylia has an important connection to the story being told.
Among all three Echo of War bosses, however, she may be the toughest one yet – and this is, in great part, due to her abundance of mechanics, which can be tricky to overcome. Honkai: Star Rail’s Phantylia is a boss with three distinct phases, both in the campaign battle and in the Echo of War challenge, making her fight a long one. To endure it and beat her, a resilient team comp will be required, as well as characters that match her weaknesses and those of her summoned lotuses.
Phantylia’s Location In Honkai: Star Rail (How To Unlock)
To unlock Phantylia in Honkai: Star Rail, players will first have to progress through the storyline, introduced with Version 1.2. To be more specific, they will have to start and make their way through the main Trailblaze Mission known as A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant. This quest will, inevitably, take them to Phantylia’s location in Honkai: Star Rail within the Scalegorge Waterscape. There, players will be prompted to face her in the campaign for the first time. After the quest is done, players can return to the location to unlock Phantylia’s Echo of War and relive the boss fight for rewards.
Phantylia’s Weaknesses In Honkai: Star Rail (Lotus Weaknesses)
In Honkai: Star Rail, Phantylia is weak against Lightning, Wind, and Imaginary damage. Using characters of these elemental types is the best way to break her Toughness Bar and inflict Weakness Break, allowing the rest of the team to deal more damage and avoid a round of her attacks. Phantylia is resistant to Frozen (Ice) and Entanglement (Quantum) debuffs. In addition to this, Phantylia summons two distinct sets of Lotuses. The Abundance Lotuses are weak against Imaginary and Wind, while Destruction Lotuses are weak against Imaginary, Lightning, and Quantum damage.
Best Team Comp Against Phantylia In Honkai: Star Rail
The best team comp for Phantylia’s fight in Honkai: Star Rail is one that takes advantage of her weaknesses, but is also prepared to break her Lotuses. A team with Jing Yuan as the main DPS tends to be great, as his AoE attacks – and those of Thunder Lord – can not only deal a large sum of damage against the boss but also hit the Lotuses she spawns. While Jing Yuan’s Lightning attacks will not prove to be too effective against Phantylia’s Abundance Lotuses, they can be key to inflicting Weakness Break against her Destruction Lotuses.
In the campaign fight, Jing Yuan is a required member of the team comp. A trial version of the character at level 78 will be provided and should be used if players do not have him or have not yet adequately leveled and built their own copy of the hero.
For the second role, players should consider taking in a character to help the main DPS’ damage output. Tingyun is the best character for the job as she is capable of buffing Jing Yuan. In addition to this, she deals Lightning damage, which can help against Phantylia in Honkai: Star Rail. Tingyun can actually deal a decent amount of damage through her Talent, which sees the buffed DPS dealing additional Lightning DMG.

The third role in the team comp against Phantylia can either be a second or a sub-DPS. For the second , Bronya is recommended. She can speed up the party’s actions, which can prove useful against the boss in Honkai: Star Rail. In case she is not available, Yukong also works quite well, as she can boost the team’s ATK while also dealing Imaginary damage to Phantylia and both her types of Lotuses. If players choose a sub-DPS, they can go with Welt, who deals Imaginary damage and slows down foes. In a sense, he will work as a sub-DPS and ing character.
Once Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae is available, he will become one of the best DPS and sub-DPS options to face Phantylia.
The final and, possibly most important role in the team comp against Phantylia is that of the healer. Phantylia’s Destruction Lotuses can use Black Prana’s Snare, the same ability used by The Ascended in Honkai: Star Rail to inflict Prana-Siphon, a debuff that cuts down the maximum restorable HP by 30%. For practical uses during combat, this effect reduces the afflicted character’s max HP by 30% – the character’s true max HP will still be considered for any skills. This debuff has to be cleansed, so the best character for the job is Luocha.
Luocha can remove debuffs from team , heal them constantly, and even deal Imaginary damage, making him the perfect choice for fighting Phantylia. If he is not available, players can sacrifice elemental affinity and use Nathasha. The healer will not be able to help with inflicting Weakness Break against the boss or her Lotuses, but she will heal and remove debuffs in Honkai: Star Rail. It is important to point out that Bailu also works well in this fight. Even though she does not actually remove debuffs, Bailu has a way of countering Prana-Siphon’s HP-reducing plague.
With Bailu’s Invigoration, she can heal characters whenever they take damage. Even with a reduced HP bar because of Prana-Siphon, characters can survive the fight by having their HP restored whenever Phantylia attacks in Honkai: Star Rail – Phantylia lacks a wiping attack, so Invigoration should be able to heal through most offensive moves. It is a riskier strategy, but even without the ability to remove debuffs, Bailu is a great healer for the fight. She also has an elemental advantage over the boss. In addition to this, Bailu’s Talent allows one fallen character to be revived per fight, making her a smart choice for this difficult boss battle.
How To Beat Phantylia - Phase 1 In Honkai: Star Rail
In Phase 1, Phantylia will start off much less aggressively, relying more on her Abundance-based powers. During the first portion of the boss fight in Honkai: Star Rail, she will use three offensive moves, all of which deal Wind DMG to targets. They can either be directed at a single target or an AoE against the party.
Phantylia’s fourth move will see her summon Abundance Lotuses. These Lotuses act like enemies on the field. They can use Samsara to reduce the target’s Skill Point by 1 and Mend to restore HP at the start of each turn.
When Abundance Lotuses are defeated in Honkai: Star Rail’s boss fight against Phantylia, they will use Moksha, which restores three Skill Points for the player’s team. These Lotuses are weaker than the Destruction ones, so the main priority here is clearing out the Abundance Lotuses as quickly as possible, then ganging up the team’s damage against Phantylia.
Players should heal and buff according to necessity. A single-target DPS like Seele is great for facing Phantylia, despite the lack of an elemental advantage, but AoE heroes capable of dealing damage to her and the Lotuses are better.
Players can use the Cloudhymn Roar ability throughout the entire fight to deal damage to Phantylia and her Lotuses. This action sees Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae perform an Imaginary-based AoE attack, which can wipe out her Lotuses across all three phases.
How To Beat Phantylia - Phase 2 In Honkai: Star Rail
After depleting Phantylia’s first HP bar, she will initiate Phase 2 in Honkai: Star Rail. This phase will see her transformed and using powers of Destruction. She now has two offensive Lightning-based moves. Her third move will target a party member and create a Destruction Lotus, which spawns with the Weakness Protected buff.
These Destruction Lotuses can deal Lightning damage, but most importantly, can inflict Black Prana’s Snare. Once defeated, they will enter a Repose state, which seems them become active again after two turns have ed.
The Destruction Lotuses used by Phantylia in Honkai: Star Rail are harder to take down than the Abundance ones, so players should take advantage of Imbibitor Lunae’s ing attack, Cloudhymn Roar, whenever it is available. This will allow players to focus their efforts against the boss herself rather than simply the Lotuses.
How To Beat Phantylia - Phase 3 In Honkai: Star Rail
Phase 3 of Phantylia’s boss fight is where things may start to look difficult. She starts using Imaginary-based attacks against of the party and will summon two Abundance Lotuses and two Destruction Lotuses. Abundance Lotuses will respawn when defeated, and Destruction Lotuses will be restored after two turns. Players will have to be wary of her Destruction Lotuses and heal through any of their attacks, but focus most of the team’s attacks against the Honkai: Star Rail boss. Abundance Lotuses should be destroyed to restore Skill Points whenever necessary.
The fight against Phantylia can be quite overwhelming, so players should go in prepared with a proper team comp of adequately leveled and built characters. The boss drops Regret of Infinite Ochema, a material used to upgrade Kafka, Blade, and Luka’s Talents, so fighting her often may be necessary to fully upgrade the new playable characters introduced with Honkai: Star Rail 1.2.
