Using Jingliu’s best build in playable character in Honkai: Star Rail 1.4, allowing you to obtain her and integrate her into their parties. As a DPS, her job is to be the main source of damage to the opponents.
Jingliu follows the Path of the Destruction and uses Ice as her main element in combat. This means that her focus is dealing as much damage as possible, even at the cost of her HP. Different from other Destruction DPS characters, however, Jingliu operates quite differently. Instead of consuming her own HP, like Blade in Honkai: Star Rail, Jingliu consumes the HP of her own allies to empower her attacks. Even if it is a risky mechanic, this pays off with annihilating powers – and given the correct team comp, she will even be encouraged to consume their HP.

Honkai: Star Rail - Jingliu Character Ascension (& Materials)
Fully Ascend and level Jingliu and her Traces to unlock her full powers as a DPS in Honkai: Star Rail. Here are all the required materials.
Best Light Cones For Jingliu
Equipping Jingliu with a proper Light Cone is a good way of polishing her abilities, allowing her to deal more damage. The best one for Jingliu is her signature Light Cone I Shall Be My Own Sword. This 5-star item in Honkai: Star Rail is tailor-made for her, so it attends to her particular needs and works in sync with her main gameplay mechanic.
By equipping it, Jingliu gets a 20% bonus to CRIT DMG. Additionally, when an ally gets attacked or loses HP, Jingliu gets a stack of Eclipse, up to three stacks. Each stack of Eclipse increases the DMG of her next attack by 14%.
When all three stacks are maxed out, Jingliu will execute an extra attack that ignores 12% of the enemy’s DEF stat. I Shall Be My Own Sword is perfect for Jingliu since it increases her powers as a DPS and, simultaneously, takes advantage of her allies losing HP via her mechanic.
A fine substitute for her signature Light Cone is Clara’s 5-star weapon in Honkai: Star Rail, Something Irreplaceable. This Light Cone increases Jingliu’s ATK by a whopping 24%, which is a great deal since she relies heavily on the stat. Jingliu also restores HP equal to 8% of her ATK when she is hit or defeats an enemy.
With this effect, Jingliu’s DMG is also boosted by 24% until the end of her next turn. This HP-recovery mechanic is not too beneficial for Jingliu, but the rest of the stats and bonuses are great for her, even if Something Irreplaceable is not as good as I Shall Be My Own Sword. The table below lists the best builds for Jingliu in Honkai: Star Rail, including some Light Cone alternatives, the best Relics and Ornaments, and the stat priority to look for when farming items:

Honkai: Star Rail also has a solid F2P (free-to-play) option that goes well with Jingliu. On The Fall Of An Aeon fits her smoothly, increasing her ATK by 8% every time she attacks, up to four times. When she inflicts a Weakness Break, her DMG will increase by 12% for two turns.
Even if slightly generic, not attending to her specific gameplay mechanics, it is a good Light Cone. It is, arguably a better option than Something Irreplaceable. If you only have 4-star Destruction Light Cones at your disposal, there are several options to choose from, such as The Moles Welcome You, Desperate Times, and Under The Blue Sky.
Best Relics, Ornaments, & Stats For Jingliu
So far, there is only one Relic set that makes sense for Jingliu in Honkai: Star Rail. Hunter of Glacial Forest is the best set for the character, as it revolves around her main source of damage, and compensates her with even more damage. With two pieces, Jingliu will see a 10% boost to Ice DMG, the element that she uses in battle. With the four-piece bonus, she will gain a 25% boost to CRIT DMG for two turns after using her Ultimate. This will make Jingliu even more effective as a DPS in battle.
So far, no specific Relic set boosts the ’s offensive powers based on allied HP loss, so Hunter of Glacial Forest is the best one to use with Jingliu. When it comes to Ornament sets in Honkai: Star Rail, however, you will have a bit more leeway when choosing. The best set for a DPS like Jingliu is Rutilant Arena. Its two-piece bonus increases her CRIT Rate by 8% and, when their CRIT Rate reaches 70% or higher, their Basic ATK and Skill DMG increase by 20%. Seeing Jingliu’s main source of damage is her Skill, this is a good match.
Two alternatives to Rutilant Arena are Celestial Differentiator or Inert Salsotto. The former is meant to increase the ’s CRIT DMG by 16% and, when the stat reaches 120% or higher, after entering battle, their CRIT Rate in Honkai: Star Rail increases by 60% until the end of their first attack. This is a solid way of enhancing the damage Jingliu deals when she lands a CRIT attack. Inert Salsotto boosts her CRIT Rate by 8% and when the stat reaches 50% or higher, their Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increases by 15%.
Celestial Differentiator and Inert Salsotto are less useful Ornament sets for Jingliu, but still viable choices while building her until you farm Rutilant Arena.
When obtaining these Relics and Ornaments for Jingliu, the stats you want to look out for in Honkai: Star Rail are ATK, a healthy CRIT DMG / CRIT Rate balance, and Ice DMG. A bit of SPD and Energy Recharge are also appreciated, but they should not be the priority, as Jingliu’s main focus will be dealing damage. If you use Bronya as her , you can ease off even more with the SPD in Jingliu’s build.
Best Team Comps For Jingliu
Because Jingliu’s main mechanic revolves around consuming the HP of her allies for increased damage, you will need to build a team comp that withstands damage, either through high HP stats or great mitigation. The safest way of playing with Jingliu is using a Preservation character to protect and an Abundance hero to eventually heal through major HP losses. While Jingliu is the main DPS, she needs to be backed up by a shielder – Fu Xuan in Honkai: Star Rail is a great match, as she reduces the damage party receive. A F2P alternative is Trailblazer (Fire) since they are able to shield the entire team.
A fun thing about Jingliu when paired up with her signature Light Cone is that her party can be hit while having a shield, not lose HP, and still activate the weapon’s bonus.
For the healer job, the best option is currently Luocha. This is the strongest and most reliable healer in the game, capable of cleansing debuffs and much more. With his field, the party restores HP by attacking opponents, so it is an effective way of restoring the HP lost by Jingliu’s Skill in Honkai: Star Rail.
Of course, another viable option for the role is Bailu. As the character scales off HP, it is a safe way to play – and she is even capable of reviving an ally, once per battle. If you have neither, Lynx or Natasha are viable choices as healers.

The last slot in the team comp for Jingliu is a bit more free. The best choice would be to use a character to further empower Jingliu. A character like Bronya in Honkai: Star Rail will see Jingliu striking quickly and stronger, and removes the need for farming Relics and Ornaments with SPD for Jingliu. Bronya is the best for the Ice DPS. There are alternatives for her, like Yukong and even the offensive Silver Wolf, who optimizes in debuffs against enemies. The choice comes down to player preference, even if Bronya is the best option.
Skill Priority For Jingliu
When leveling Jingliu’s abilities, also known as Traces in Honkai: Star Rail, you will probably see yourself needing to prioritize one over another, as many items are required in the process. As such, it is best to start with Jingliu’s Skill and Talent, leveled up side by side when possible. These complement each other, so they need to be leveled up simultaneously. The next ability to start leveling is the Ultimate, as this is her secondary source of damage.
- Skill & Talent
- Ultimate
- Basic Attack
The last priority is Jingliu’s Basic Attack, as it plays no part in her gameplay rotation. It may be a good idea to level it after all other skills have been maxed out, in case you need to use Basic Attack while waiting for more Skill points. Nevertheless, it is only for emergency cases. You should be wreaking havoc with Jingliu’s Skill in Honkai: Star Rail at every given opportunity.
