A new set of Castorice and Anaxa in Honkai: Star Rail.

This article contains spoilers about events that have occurred in the Amphoreus story arc so far, as well as possible spoilers for future occurrences.

With HoYoverse having confirmed that the main Trailblaze Missions set on Amphoreus will be added continuously with every patch until Version 3.7, it’s safe to assume that we’re still in the early to middle stages of the Eternal Land’s larger story arc. Even so, the story is getting more serious with every update. The Trailblaze Missions of Version 3.2 brought forth a series of lore dumps about the truth of Amphoreus and even took some of the Chrysos Heirs out of the story, such as Castorice in Honkai: Star Rail, which stacks with Trianne’s presumed “death” in Version 3.1 quests.

Massive Story Spoilers For Honkai: Star Rail Have Been Leaked

More Chrysos Heirs Will Reportedly Die

A lot has already happened in the Amphoreus story so far, but more is inbound in Version 3.3. According to information provided by the leaker known as Uncle GreekMilk, who accurately revealed information about Lygus’ introduction in Version 3.2, four more Chrysos Heris will die in future patches, possibly in Version 3.3. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Story” on Chrysos Heirs in Honkai: Star Rail’s Amphoreus arc.

From the Chrysos Heirs who have been formally introduced, the only remaining ones would be Phainon, Tribbie, and Hyacine. Trianne, Castorice, and Anaxa have all died in the story, though the nature of their deaths is debatable.

The leak also describes how each character will die once their time is due. According to the leak, Trinnon, like Trianne before her, will turn into a doll after exhausting her powers by using the Century Gate. Mydei, on the other hand, is said to die in battle against the Flame Reaver. According to the leak, the Goldweaver will be assassinated while she takes a bath, which lines up with another previous leak about Aglaea’s death in Honkai: Star Rail, also shared by Uncle Greekmilk. Lastly, the leaker mentions that Cipher will also die in battle against the Flame Reaver.

Honkai: Star Rail's Amphoreus Arc May Subvert Expectations

The Flame Reaver May Be An Ally, Despite The Fact That They Kill Chrysos Heirs

Another relevant point in Uncle GreekMilk’s leak is the mention that the Flame Reaver is not actually a villain, but on the side of justice. They don’t provide details about it, citing that it is too early to mention why, but state that it will “overturn the entire worldview. If the Flame Reaver is actively killing the Chrysos Heirs as a means to impede the Flame-Chase Journey, then our entire perception about the structure of Amphoreus may be biased and ready to be flipped soon. Flame Reaver was built up as an antagonist since their introduction in Honkai: Star Rail.

Blade’s buff in Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 has long been anticipated, but it may be instantly powercrept by the release of a new Fate collab character.

In fact, Flame Reaver was directly correlated to the Black Tide, which is prophesied to be responsible for the world’s downfall and a recurrent threat in the Amphoreus lore. Flame Reaver is designed as a villain, so the mere mention of them not being one seems contradictory – but that may very well be within HoYoverse’s plan. The idea of having Flame Reaver as a figure seeking to save Amphoreus would subvert expectations in a massive way, and it would likely be one of the largest plot twists in Honkai: Star Rail so far.

This also brings up a shift in perception regarding the Chrysos Heirs. I refuse to believe that the Chrysos Heirs are genuinely evil and antagonistic, but the Flame-Chase Journey they pursue may not actually be the correct method of saving Amphoreus from its impending doom. As such, the Chrysos Heirs’ death at the hands of the Flame Reaver may simply be a means to an end, a consequence of the Flame Reaver’s attempt to save the Eternal Land by their own hands. This also goes against Anaxa’s recent understanding of the Flame-Chase Journey.

Despite being initially against the Flame-Chase Journey, Anaxa in Honkai: Star Rail understood the mission and opposed the Council of Elders, standing by his fellow Chrysos Heirs in the Version 3.2 Trailblaze Missions.

While these rumors about the Chrysos Heirs’ deaths and the Flame Reaver’s benevolent alignment seem extremely odd, the fact is that Amphoreus is still clouded in mystery. The recent Trailblaze Missions revealed that Amphoreus is also entangled by the grasp of Destruction and that external influence, such as The Herta’s presence, could result in the liberation of a Lord Ravager. A leak by Uncle Sanmao, which was shared on Reddit, corroborates the idea that all Chrysos Heirs will die, but also hints at the possibility of Amphoreus being stuck in a time loop, which could explain the Flame Reaver’s motivations.

Previous leaks mentioned that Phainon is an Emanator in Honkai: Star Rail, specifically of Destruction, which would technically make him a Lord Ravager.

Perhaps the Flame-Chase Journey itself, while under the guise of a means of salvation, is what keeps Amphoreus in this endless continuity of cycles – and Flame Reaver’s goal is to liberate the world from it. Furthermore, Amphoreus is problematic because it is touched by the Remembrance, Erudition, and Destruction. The struggle for a Path’s power over it or, perhaps, Nous’ and Fuli’s rumored manipulation of its essence could be the cause of Amphoreus’ prophecy of unavoidable doom in Honkai: Star Rail.

Honkai: Star Rail's Leaked Spoilers May Not Be Permanent

Amphoreus’ Rumored Time Loop May Bring Back Dead Characters

Honkai Star Rail's Castorice commands Netherwing to battle.

Even though the events that have been leaked, specifically regarding past and future Chrysos Heir deaths, are shocking at face value, they may not be permanent. If Amphoreus is truly stuck in a time loop with cycles that restart every so often, then we may soon see departed Chrysos Heirs return to our ensemble. Hopefully, however, this time loop will not be presented as the notoriously annoying Samsara arc in Genshin Impact, where players kept repeating the same events for a long time. Instead, the start of a new cycle in Honkai: Star Rail’s Amphoreus could come with massive changes.

Details about the character banner structure for Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 have allegedly leaked, and aside from new units, there may be valuable reruns.

The disturbances that affect Amphoreus seem to be many and apparently can’t be reduced to a single factor like an individual Stellaron Crisis. The confluence between Remembrance, Erudition, and Destruction puts many parties in conflict, and the truth about the Eternal Land could be even denser than expected. The presence of a Genius Society member like The Herta also makes the stakes higher than ever, as most of the previous story arcs were resolved internally, even if with some external influence. Amphoreus may be the very best story arc in Honkai: Star Rail, depending on what happens.
