A new leak about Hysilens in Amphoreus characters in Honkai: Star Rail yet to be released.

A lot of the Chrysos Heirs, the heroes from The Eternal Land, have been teased by the developer, but they should be gradually released. Version 3.0 only introduced Aglaea, for example, while Version 3.1 will add Mydei and Tribbie. The rumors indicate that Version 3.2 will feature Castorice and Anaxa, but the list of Amphoreus characters is large, and there are several other units to be introduced as both NPCs in the story missions as well as playable characters. This includes figures like Cipher and Hysilens in Honkai: Star Rail, who has already had a portion of her design leaked.

Hysilens May Be A Nihility DoT Character In Honkai: Star Rail

The Leaks Say She Can Stack Damage & Detonate DoT Effects

Honkai Star Rail's Hysilens reaches up toward the sky.

While the first few leaks about Hysilens focused on her design and how similar she may look to a few existing characters in the game and larger Honkai universe – which may be a problem should she encounter Welt during any of the story missions – the new leaks have provided some early details about her gameplay kit. According to information provided by the leaker known as Uncle Jtt55W, Hysilens may be capable of applying DoT (damage over time) effects on enemies, which indicates she may be a character following the Path of the Nihility in Honkai: Star Rail.

Honkai: Star Rail Amphoreus Leaks Hint At Devastating Spoiler For This Character

Some new leaks about Honkai: Star Rail’s Amphoreus story arc have arisen and they may be incriminating toward one of the main characters.

The leaked information was shared in a post flagged as “Questionable” on Black Swan in Honkai: Star Rail, who have these effects separately.

Hysilens May Powercreep Older Nihility Characters In Honkai: Star Rail

The Amphoreus Character May Have A Better Gameplay Value Than Kafka, For Example

Even though this may be exciting news for Hysilens as an character, it may be tragic for older characters like Kafka and Black Swan, who are at risk of being seriously powercrept by the new unit. Although the two aforementioned Nihility characters are a bit older, they are still some of the strongest units for DoT team comps. Black Swan is a specialist in applying Arcana stacks on enemies, making them sustain more damage over time, while Kafka is a great DoT detonation character, who can activate all DoTs on enemy targets via her Skill in Honkai: Star Rail.

Honkai Star Rail Leaks: Dan Heng's New Form May Be Exactly What We've Been Needing

Dan Heng’s rumored new form in Honkai: Star Rail just got more details and it seems like his Path alignment may be exactly what players need.

Damage over time is not the strongest source of damage in the game, especially because it requires a slower build-up than some other characters who deal raw damage directly to opponents, but it is strong, especially in some activities with modifiers that benefit DoT. The combo of Kafka and Black Swan works particularly well, especially if players have other Nihility characters that can contribute with the stacking of DoT effects in the same party. This, however, may soon come to an end, especially for detonation characters like Kafka in Honkai: Star Rail if the leaks are proven to be true.

If Hysilens is capable of both applying DoT stacks and then triggering them, team comps focused on damage over time will be better off substituting the Stellaron Hunter for the Amphoreus character. This doesn’t mean that all Nihility characters will immediately become disposable, but with Hysilens reportedly doing the complete job herself, characters who execute a single function will pale in comparison and, thus, be powercrept by the new unit. Characters who revolve around applying debuffs will likely still be useful for Hysilens, as she should be able to trigger their DoTs in Honkai: Star Rail as a detonator.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 Leaks Highlight The Game's Biggest Issue With Character Releases

The rumors of the release of Mr. Reca in Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 are positive, but they shed light on one of the game’s worst issues regarding releases.

1

Overall, it seems like Hysilens will be yet another powercreep for the game’s roster of older characters. With her release, strong team comps that are currently led by Kafka, for instance, will be partially retired as Hysilens will seemingly lead the meta for DoT parties. It does not mean that Kafka will become unusable with the arrival of the Amphoreus character, but the Stellaron Hunter’s value should greatly diminish to the point that, depending on the new challenges that are added in Honkai: Star Rail, she will not be able to handle the activities that she would normally thrive at.

Powercreeping In Honkai: Star Rail May Be Inevitable, But It Can Be Disappointing

New Releases Seem To Require Sacrificing Older Characters

It’s understandable that, with new character releases, older characters will be powercrept – this has been happening since the first patches after the game’s release, as new characters need to be new and offer advantages for players to pull for, but the downside is that this often comes at the expense of older characters. A new Nihility character, for example, needs to offer more value than simple DoT application, as has been the case with Jiaoqiu. Although he buffed Ultimate DMG, which made him a great companion for Acheron in Honkai: Star Rail, he had little else to offer.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.2 Leaks Show The First New 4-Star Character In Months

After months of absences, a new 4-star character has been leaked for Honkai: Star Rail and it’s a familiar face who has long been awaited.

If Hysilens were to be a DoT stacker or a detonator, she would be competing with Black Swan and Kafka, respectively, and for players who already own these units, there would only be a few reasons to pull for the Amphoreus character. With her allegedly occupying both roles, Hysilens instantly becomes a better Nihility unit than previous characters, making her more desirable once she is introduced to the banners. This way, the game can continue to expand its roster without leaving a Path on the outskirts of updates and ensuring more revenue, but powercreeping fan-favorite characters like Kafka is disappointing.

HoYoverse could mitigate a portion of the disappointment in powercreeps by buffing older characters in Honkai: Star Rail or particular stats during some periods.

For now, these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, as the information provided is not only incomplete, but it could also be incorrect or subject to change as the developer continues to work on the character’s gameplay kit leading up to her eventual release, likely to occur this year. The rumors aren’t entirely surprising as Paths need to expand with new additions, but there isn’t too much space for immense revolutions, so powercreeping seems like an inevitable curse in Honkai: Star Rail for the time being.
