New information about an Amphoreus character’s true form in Tribbie and Mydei in Honkai: Star Rail, while another portion of the attention shifts toward the Version 3.2 leaks.

Several leaks about Version 3.2 are bound to emerge soon thanks to the start of the beta tests for the patch, even though a lot of information has already arisen. This includes gameplay details about Anaxa and Castorice, confirmed to be the new characters in Version 3.2, for example. As officially announced by HoYoverse, players should receive new Amphoreus-related story quests until Version 3.7, and some attention is already turned toward the future. There have been, for instance, leaks about Cyrene in Honkai: Star Rail 3.7, and now a new one about a pivotal character has emerged.

The Character Allegedly Undergoes An Outfit Change

According to new information provided by the leaker known as Shiroha, the design concept for Phainon’s true form in the game has surfaced in an illustration. The leak was shared in a post that was flagged as “Questionable” on Reddit. In the leaked illustration, it is possible to see Phainon’s alleged true form, in which he dispenses his regular outfit seen in the Amphoreus story quests so far. Phainon can be seen donning an alternative costume that has a long tail on both sides and knee-high boots in Honkai: Star Rail.

A portion of Phainon’s chest in this leaked design is also exposed and marked by golden scars, which seem to resemble those that are formed when he pours golden ichor on his body in the teaser trailers showcased by HoYoverse. One of Phainon’s arms seems to be encased in a golden material, while the other is protected by armor. The leaked design also shows that Phainon may have a wing on his left side and a large distorted halo above his head. The leak also shows Phainon with golden eyes in Honkai: Star Rail rather than his regular blue eyes.

The Elaborate Design May Be Hinting At An Opponent

While it is still unknown what this leaked design concept will be used for, there is debate over whether this will be Phainon’s playable version or not. Based on the game’s previous behavior and how intricately designed this Phainon is compared to the Phainon we have already met during the campaign, it seems like this may be his boss form as opposed to a playable character. If Phainon is released as a playable character, as indicated by some leaks, he will likely be more adjacent to how he has presented himself in the Amphoreus story in Honkai: Star Rail.

This type of treatment has already happened in the past with another character: Aventurine. During the Penacony story arc, players were able to obtain Aventurine’s playable form, which resembled his look during most of the campaign as an NPC – a very evidently humanoid figure with elaborate clothing. However, Aventurine is also a boss in the game, and his design is much more detailed, with larger pieces of clothing and adornments. Phainon’s leaked true form seems more like Aventurine’s boss form than the regular playable version of Aventurine in Honkai: Star Rail.

Theories Suggest The Chrysos Heir Is An Emanator Of Destruction

Even though Phainon has been presented as an ally so far, his allegedly leaked boss form may indicate otherwise – or at least an opponent under specific circumstances, as Aventurine and Sunday have been in the past, for example. It’s impossible to determine with certainty why the Trailblazer would face Phainon in battle, but leaks have provided some food for thought. According to leaks about Phainon in Honkai: Star Rail, the Chrysos Heir is actually an Emanator of Destruction, otherwise known as a Lord-Ravager. If this is true, Phainon is most likely a villain on Amphoreus.

An affiliation with Nanook would likely mean Phainon’s goal is to bring entropy to The Eternal Land and, thus, justify a conflict with the Trailblazer in what would be an epic boss fight. Both the leaks about Phainon’s true form and the theory that he is an Emanator of Destruction should be taken with a grain of salt, as the information is clearly incomplete and may be incorrect or subject to change. Nevertheless, some signs point toward Phainon’s deceit in Honkai: Star Rail and his leaked true form may be what players face when the time is right.
