New leaks about a character in Honkai: Star Rail indicate they will not only get a much-needed buff to their power but also an unexpected summer skin. The turn-based RPG by HoYoverse is actively going through various changes in its gameplay meta thanks to the continuous introduction of new playable units, as well as the recent implementation of the Remembrance as a playable Path. With the release of Honkai: Star Rail 3.1 looming on the horizon and the arrival of Tribbie and Mydei to start a new age for HP-centered mechanics, the game is due to change once again.

These changes should continue to occur over the course of the next few patches. Version 3.2, for instance, is confirmed to introduce Castorice, a new 5-star Remembrance character who is rumored to use HP loss in a unique way that hasn’t been seen yet. The patch is also adding Anaxa as a playable 5-star unit and, based on the leaks about them so far, it seems like they will be able to implement new Weaknesses on enemies in a way that sures Silver Wolf. Now, it seems like older characters in Honkai: Star Rail are also due to get buffed.

HoYoverse Has Confirmed Upgrades To Older Units

Officially announced by the developer in a blog post on HoYoLAB, older characters from the game will get buffs in the near future. HoYoverse discussed a series of changes it is set to implement during the patches after Version 3.0, including dialogue and puzzle optimizations to attend to some criticism that arose with the release of the first patch this year – these specific changes should occur in Version 3.2 and onward, but in addition to that, the company revealed that is looking at ways to make older characters in Honkai: Star Rail relevant to the gameplay meta again.

In the blog post, HoYoverse does not go into detail about how it will buff these characters, only going so far as to mention that they will be strengthened and that these updates are on schedule. For now, it’s unsure exactly when these changes will be deployed – there weren’t mentions of these buffs during the Version 3.1 livestream, so it’s unlikely they will show up during the game’s next patch, but they are expected to be enacted soon considering that they have already been the subject of a few leaks that are starting to emerge for Honkai: Star Rail.

The Nature Of The Buff Hasn’t Been Described Yet

According to information provided by an anonymous leaker, which was then shared by a leaker known as Galaxy Leak, the characters from the standard banner will be the first ones to receive the aforementioned buffs. This includes Himeko, Welt, Bronya, Bronya, Gepard, Clara, Bailu, and Yanqing. The leak, which was shared in a post flagged as “Questionable” on Silver Wolf in Honkai: Star Rail.

Following their release order, it is uncertain until which character HoYoverse will provide buffs – “older characters” is an broad way of describing units and it could reach from Seele’s release in Version 1.0 to Fugue’s release in Version 2.7, for instance, though the cutoff will likely occur in a much earlier patch.

This particular leak puts the spotlight on Seele, the first character to be released in the game. Because of the period in which she was released and the other units that were released after her, the previously powerful 5-star Quantum Hunt character quickly became obsolete in team comps, having been powercrept by newer and stronger characters. Jing Yuan, who was also released in Version 1.0, sured Seele in of power level and even he was powercrept over time. This issue may soon be resolved, at least partially, with the confirmed buffs to characters in Honkai: Star Rail.

In addition to the much-needed buff, Seele may also get an extra boon. According to the leak, the warrior will also get a new cosmetic outfit. As seen in the rumor, Seele is expected to receive a summer skin. No other details about what this skin will look like have been provided so far. However, it is possible to presume she will change her regular clothing for something that is more adjacent to beachwear. The game has just recently introduced skins, via the March 7th skin in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, so the rumored Seele skin would be huge news.

Even though the game has made an effort to distance itself from the larger Honkai universe, leaving only a few smaller connections to be picked up by fans, there has been a recent increase in the overlap of content, and Seele’s rumored summer skin could be a product of that type of internal collaboration between the series’ titles. As of lately, Honkai Impact 3rd is getting characters from the turn-based RPG, and, because Seele Vollerei is a character in the action RPG and a lookalike for Seele in Honkai: Star Rail, one of her summer outfits could be adapted.

Kafka May Be The Next To Get An Alternative Outfit

Although the leak mentions a skin for Seele in the near future, it could actually take longer for her to get an alternative outfit. This is because there have been several leaks mentioning skins that preceded this one. Some of the first leaks targeted March 7th, who has just recently received a new skin. In addition to March 7th, there have also been several leaks about a Kafka skin in Honkai: Star Rail that have been circulating for nearly a year. March 7th’s skin leaks proved to be true, so hopes are that Kafka will be the next in line.

As is the case with any leak, the information about Seele’s skin should be considered with caution, as it may be incorrect, incomplete, or subject to change. This specific leak seems particularly unreliable, so taking it with an extra grain of salt would be wise. Even so, Seele is likely going to receive a buff, as HoYoverse has confirmed that older characters will be readjusted. As such, even if players don’t get to use a special outfit, they may be able to bring back Seele into their main team comps in Honkai: Star Rail soon.
