Farming the right materials for Robin’s character Ascension in characters in Honkai: Star Rail 2.2, along with the DPS Boothill. In combat, she uses Physical DMG and follows the Path of the Harmony.
Robin specializes in two main -based skills when aiding her team. The first is buffing their offensive properties. She does so by boosting the damage they deal against enemies and increasing their ATK and their CRIT DMG. In addition to that, Robin also forwards her allies’ actions when she uses her Ultimate, a skill that is constantly available through her increased Energy Regeneration when fully Ascended. Her abilities are well-appreciated in a variety of different team comps but, before adding her to any of your parties, you will need to farm Robin’s Ascension materials in Honkai: Star Rail.

Ascension Materials To Farm For Robin In Honkai: Star Rail
Materials Reflect A Physical DMG Character From Penacony
Farming the proper materials for Robin is not all too difficult, as the majority of them were already available in the game prior to her release as a playable unit and, as such, it is quite possible that you had a stock of some of the items. If not, however, it is still easy to gather them through various means. The first items you need to collect, which will also be used to level her Traces in Honkai: Star Rail are Dream Collection Component and its evolved forms, Dream Flow Valve and Dream Making Engine, respectively.
The table below lists the total materials you need to farm for Robin, also divided per Ascension threshold:

Dream Collection Component, Dream Flow Valve, and Dream Making Engine drop from Dreamjolt Troupe enemies in Penacony. You may defeat these types of opponents within the Simulated Universe and also gather the materials. A great and steady source of them stems from daily Assignments. The best way to farm them, however, is to challenge Calyx (Golden) activities in Penacony. While the main resources are Credits, Character EXP Materials, or Light Cone EXP Materials, the Dream-based items drop since the opponents include Dreamjolt Troupe creatures in Honkai: Star Rail. Not many are required, but you’ll need a surplus for her Traces.
The second type of material you need to farm is called IPC Work Permit. This is an item that was impossible to farm before Robin’s release, as it is also a Version 2.2 content. The IPC Work Permit is an Ascension material for certain Physical characters that drops from Shape of Duty: Stagnant Shadow in Honkai: Star Rail. The activity is located in the Clock Studios: Theme Park map on Penacony, and you can easily access it through your Survival Index. You will need a total of 65, which should have you challenging it around a dozen times.
IPC Work Permit is the same Ascension material used by Boothill, so if you plan on pulling for the Hunt DPS, this is where you need to farm for him.
In addition to materials, the last resource needed to Ascend Robin is Credits. You should gather these naturally but, in case you are low on the currency, you should farm it in Calyx (Golden): Bud of Treasure activities. It is recommended to challenge the one on Penacony since that can snag you extra Dream Collection Components for Robin. The entire Ascension process itself is not too expensive, but if you level Robin with Character EXP Materials, you will need to pay an extra 508,000 Credits in Honkai: Star Rail.
Materials For Robin’s Traces (Abilities) In Honkai: Star Rail
Leveling Skills Can Be An Expensive Process
While the full Ascension process for Robin is fairly affordable when it comes to both Credits and materials to farm, leveling up her Traces can be quite expensive and, depending on what you have available, lengthy, too. As was previously mentioned, the first set of materials for Robin’s Traces are Dream Collection Component, Dream Flow Valve, and Dream Making Engine. A lot of these will be required to max out all of Robin’s abilities, so be sure to farm them vigorously when possible – use everything at your disposal, from visits to Calyces on Penacony to Assignments.

In addition to the item family dropped from Dreamjolt Troupe enemies, you will also be required to farm Trace materials for this Harmony character. The correct items for that are Firmament Note, Celestial Section, and Heavenly Melody. These are all part of the same item family, so you can and should use the Synthesizer to transform lower-grade materials into higher-grade ones as your needs evolve. These Robin Trace materials can be farmed exclusively at the Calyx (Crimson): Bud of Harmony activity, located in the Reverie map in the Dreamscape in Penacony.
You can also purchase a limited amount of Firmament Notes and Celestial Sections from the Embers Exchange shop in Honkai: Star Rail every month.
For higher-leveled Traces, Robin will start using Past Evils of the Borehole Planet Disaster. This boss material can be farmed at the Echo of War: Borehole Planet’s Old Crater activity in Herta Space Station. Boss activities can only be challenged thrice every week, so, even if Robin does not need many of these materials to max out all her skills, it may still take a while to farm everything needed – especially if you are farming other weekly boss materials in Honkai: Star Rail during that same week.
The last material you will need for Robin’s higher-level Traces is Tracks of Destiny. These items can be obtained from limited-time activities, as well as one per week in the Simulated Universe. You can also get some more from the Embers Exchange shop every month, as well as an unlimited supply from Starlight Exchange, though that may be costly since you need 50 Undying Starlight for each one purchased this way.

Honkai Star Rail 2.3 Leaks: Firefly May Be The First Character Of Her Type
New leaks about Firefly in Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 are hinting at what may be a game-changing addition to the turn-based RPG's combat system.
In addition to the materials per si, you will also need a large sum of Credits to max out Robin’s Traces. As per usual, you can always farm more Credits at Calyx (Golden): Bud of Treasures activities. The process to Ascend Robin and upgrade her skills is not too complicated, but given some farming limitations and how expensive it may be, it could take you a while to fully upgrade this unit in Honkai: Star Rail.
