Make sure to find the best builds and team comps for Sparkle in release of Honkai: Star Rail 2.0, which kicked off the second year of content for the turn-based RPG by HoYoverse. Sparkle made her debut in Phase 2 banners of the update and is now considered a limited-time character, meaning players can only obtain her whenever she comes into rotation in the banner system.

Sparkle specializes in boosting her team’s total Skill Points and increasing their overall damage output whenever they consume these points. In addition to that, she is a reliable for the main DPS, as she can increase their CRIT DMG and advance their action. Sparkle is a little bit complicated to build at first as she deviates from the pattern of other Harmony units with some unusual stat scaling, but building her properly and inserting her in the proper team comps in Honkai: Star Rail is worth it, as you will likely see your newfound party powering through tough encounters.

Best Light Cones For Sparkle

Honkai Star Rail's Sparkle smiles gently.

The best Light Cone for Sparkle is Earthly Escapade, her signature 5-star gear that can only be obtained from limited banners whenever Sparkle is in the gacha system. Earthly Escapade increases Sparkle’s CRIT DMG by 32% and, at the start of the battle, she gains Mask for three turns. Mask increases her allies' CRIT Rate by 10% and their CRIT DMG by 28%. Additionally, for every Skill Point recovered by Sparkle (likely via her Talent in Honkai: Star Rail), she gains Radiant Flame. When four stacks of Radiant Flame are obtained and consumed, they grant Mask for four turns.

The CRIT DMG buff provided through Sparkle's Skill scales off of her own CRIT DMG, making it a vital stat to have. This is part of what makes Earthly Escapade the perfect fit for her.

If her signature weapon is not available, you can use the 5-star But the Battle Isn’t Over Light Cone. This will increase Sparkle’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 10% and regenerate one Skill Point whenever she uses her Ultimate on an ally. The effect can be triggered once every two uses of her Ultimate. When Sparkle uses her Skill, the next ally taking action deals 30% more DMG for one turn. While it does not provide a CRIT DMG boost, it fits in with most of Sparkle’s abilities in Honkai: Star Rail, making it the best 5-star substitute currently available.

The table below lists the best builds for Sparkle, including Light Cone options, the ideal Relics and Ornaments, and the stats you will need to farm for:

Best Build For Sparkle In Honkai: Star Rail

Light Cone

  1. Earthly Escapade (Best 5-star)
  2. But the Battle Isn't Over (5-star substitute)
  3. Dreamville Adventure (Best 4-star)
  4. Past and Future (4-star substitute)
  5. Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds (4-star substitute)

Relic & Ornament Set

Relics:

  • Messenger Traversing Hackerspace (4 pieces)

Ornaments:

  1. Sprightly Vonwacq (2 pieces)
  2. Penacony, Land of the Dreams (2 pieces) - Quantum DPS
  3. Celestial Differentiator (2 pieces) - Temporary CRIT DMG bump

Stat Priority

  1. CRIT DMG
  2. SPD
  3. Energy Recharge
  4. HP

Skill Priority

  2. Basic Attack

If the aforementioned 5-star weapons are not available, you have some 4-star Light Cone options to choose from. Dreamville Adventure, introduced with the region of Penacony in Version 2.0, can increase allies’ DMG by 12% if they use the same type of ability most recently used by Sparkle herself. Alternatively, you can use Past and Future, which boosts the next ally’s DMG by 16% after Sparkle uses her Skill. Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds is also a decent option in Honkai: Star Rail, though the bonus effect provided by the Light Cone will be randomized in each encounter.

Honkai: Star Rail - Ruan Mei Character Builds (Light Cones, Relics, Team Comps)

Ruan Mei's Weakness Break buffs make her a top-tier unit in Honkai: Star Rail with plenty of strong options for Relics and Light Cones.

Currently, Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds is the only 4-star Harmony Light Cone that provides a CRIT DMG boost, but its effect is temporary for the battle and there is no guarantee it will be activated, as the weapon can provide one of three buffs every encounter.

Best Relics, Ornaments, & Stats For Sparkle

Honkai Star Rail's Sparkle takes a stroll in Penacony.

When it comes to the Relics that Sparkle should equip, there is only one set that makes sense for her at the moment. Though it does not give her CRIT DMG, Messenger Traversing Hackerspace does fit her needs as a . With two pieces, Sparkle gets a 6% SPD boost, while the four-piece bonus sees that, whenever she uses her Ultimate on an ally, SPD for all allies increases by 12% for one turn. The Genius of Brilliant Stars set can improve Quantum DMG, but it isn’t recommended as Sparkle’s focus is not dealing damage in Honkai: Star Rail.

Despite Sparkle’s scaling on CRIT DMG, she is not a damage dealer and should not be considered as such. Instead, focus on building her as a complete unit.

In contrast to Relics, there are different Planar Ornaments for her. The best Ornament set for Sparkle is Sprightly Vonwacq. These items increase her Energy Regeneration Rate by 5% and, when her SPD reaches 120 or higher, Sparkle’s action is Advanced Forward by 40% when entering battle. Alternatively, you can use Penacony, Land of the Dreams, which also boosts Sparkle’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 5% but increases DMG for all allies with the same DMG type as her by 10% – this is particularly good if your DPS is of the Quantum element in Honkai: Star Rail.

The last possible set is Celestial Differentiator. This Ornament set boosts Sparkle’s CRIT DMG by 16% and, when her CRIT DMG reaches 120% or higher, after entering battle, her CRIT Rate increases by 60% until the end of her first attack. This set should only be used as a temporary solution to a low CRIT DMG stat. You should try to increase Sparkle’s CRIT DMG through stats, sub-stats, and her Light Cone, if possible. Equipping Celestial Differentiator cuts off some of her potential as a character in Honkai: Star Rail.

When farming these Relics and Ornaments for Sparkle, you should focus on trying to get as much CRIT DMG as you can, followed by SPD and Energy Regeneration Rate. CRIT DMG will improve the quality of the buffs she provides to teammates, while SPD will allow her to act sooner and, hopefully, before the party’s DPS. Energy Regeneration will allow her to have her Ultimate up more often, thus increasing allies’ DMG through the consumption of Skill Points in Honkai: Star Rail. HP is also a useful sub-stat for her to have, as it can boost her survivability.

To adequately use Jingliu as a main DPS in Honkai: Star Rail, you need to build her correctly and pair her up with the best team comps.

Best Team Comps For Sparkle

The ideal team comps for Sparkle are those that hypercarry a single DPS for an insane amount of damage. Because of how Sparkle rewards her team with more DMG based on Skill Point, consumption, it is best to have a Skill Point-hungry team. Imbibitor Lunae consumes a lot when he is attacking at full charge, while certain healers and secondary s can use Skill Points every turn.

The table below lists some team comp suggestions for Sparkle in Honkai: Star Rail:

Best Team Comps For Sparkle In Honkai: Star Rail

Hypercarry Team

  • Sparkle (Harmony - Quantum)
  • Dan Heng - Imbibitor Lunae (Destruction - Imaginary)
  • Ruan Mei (Harmony - Ice) or Silver Wolf (Nihility - Quantum)
  • Huohuo (Abundance - Wind) or Luocha (Abundance - Imaginary)

Mono Quantum Team Comp

  • Sparkle (Harmony - Quantum)
  • Seele (Hunt - Quantum)
  • Silver Wolf (Nihility - Quantum)
  • Fu Xuan (Preservation - Quantum) or Lynx (Abundance - Quantum)

Budget-Friendly Team Comp

  • Sparkle (Harmony - Quantum)
  • Misha (Destruction - Ice)
  • Tingyun (Harmony - Lightning) or Asta (Harmony - Fire)
  • Lynx (Abundance - Quantum)

Players can play around with a mono-Quantum team if the situation makes sense. If players are looking for a budget-friendly team that does not require extra 5-star units, consider using Misha as the DPS, as he also increases his damage output based on Skill Point consumption, making him a great ally for Sparkle, as she provides extra Skill Points to use and rewards him when the team consumes them. Honkai: Star Rail’s Sparkle is at her best in teams that demand a lot of Skill Points, but her kit allows her to fit in well with several team comps.

Skill Priority For Sparkle

Honkai Star Rail's Sparkle uses an ability and glows with red energy.

When you are Ascending and leveling up Sparkle’s abilities, you will need to treat her Skill, Ultimate, and Talent with equal priority. Her Skill is what gives her DPS a boost to CRIT DMG and her Ultimate and Talent are what trigger the Skill Point mechanic that grants a DMG buff, so they are all equally important. Her Basic Attack is the least relevant part of her kit and can be left for later, if not completely ignored should you lack the resources in Honkai: Star Rail.

Building Sparkle can start a little bit difficult due to how her stats scale, but if given the proper treatment and farming is taken seriously, she can be shaped into one of the best units in the game. Additionally, Sparkle may as well be the best companion for Imbibitor Lunae so far. Be sure to take advantage of the extra Skill Points and the Skill Point restoration that she provides to increase your team’s overall damage output in Honkai: Star Rail.
