Details about the digital and physical goodies in Forbidden West's Collector's, Digital Deluxe, Regalia and Special Editions.

In-game mini-games that NPCs and the player character enjoy in the world have become increasingly popular over the years, with Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Orlog serving as the most recent example of note.

Some of the special items featured in Horizon Forbidden West's Collector's packages include an in-game Apex Clawstrider Machine Strike piece, as well as replica Sunwing and Clawstrider Machine physical Strike pieces. These details mark the first mention of Strike, an in-game tabletop experience that Sony outlines further on the PlayStation page. According to a Forbidden West FAQ listing, Strike is played by denizens of Horizon's world using wooden and metal pieces designed in the shape of machines. "Aloy will be introduced to Strike in Horizon Forbidden West and she can challenge many different NPCs to a match," the post says in part.

As of now, how exactly Strike plays out remains a mystery since Guerrilla has yet to relay specifics. The rules of the game and such should begin to surface in the coming months, however, given that Forbidden West will hit stores in approximately five months.

It's possible more information about Horizon Forbidden West will surface next week during PlayStation's recently announced Showcase, which will go live on Thursday, September 9 at 1:00 PM PDT. The long-awaited livestream, scheduled to run about 40 minutes in length, will focus on "the future of PS5," SIE's Sid Shuman wrote in a PlayStation Blog post.
