The PlayStation-exclusive Horizon Forbidden West is coming to PC soon in a new Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition package with the Burning Shores expansion included. The popular game was first released for PS4 and PS5 in 2022 and has been restricted to only being available on those systems until now. With the new PC version of the game, there are many new features to enhance the gameplay, and many pre-order and bonus content items are available.

Horizon Forbidden West takes players along on a post-apocalyptic adventure, playing as Aloy as she tries to stop the resurgence of a machine plague that threatens all organic life on the planet. In a world filled with corrupted mechanical beasts, warring tribes, and other dangers, her mission is a dangerous and exciting one. The game was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, which naturally led to it being exclusive to Sony's PlayStation, but is now being brought to PC, and will even ultra-wide and super ultra-wide monitors, going up to 48:9 resolution compatibility for triple-monitor, panoramic arrangements.

Pre-Orders Available Now On Steam & Epic Games Store

The Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition will be released for PC on March 21, 2024, according to PlayStation Blog, and is already available for pre-order on Burning Shores expansion DLC at one price. Players can still use their PlayStation DualSense controllers with compatible PCs, or use either an Xbox controller or keyboard and mouse. This PC release comes just over two years following the original launch of the game on PlayStation.

To make Horizon Forbidden West as polished as possible for the PC version, the game features unlocked frame rates, customizable graphics settings, and for many of the advanced hardware possibilities that are available for PCs, such as NVIDIA DLSS 3 upscaling and frame generation, as well as AMD FSR and Intel XeSS . To prevent slow loading times on the PC, Horizon Forbidden West uses DirectStorage.

Horizon Forbidden West is already a beautiful game with striking landscapes and highly detailed environments covering many different types of biomes. For PC players with more than one monitor, or monitors that are wider than normal, developers made the PC version large panoramic displays. Ultra-wide 21:9 or super ultra-wide 32:9 resolutions are available, as is a 48:9 special resolution for those with three monitors.

To ensure that PC players can enjoy Aloy's adventure in the way that is most comfortable for them, keyboard and mouse controls are fully customizable on the PC, and there is controller for both PlayStation DualSense and Xbox controllers. Using the Steam Input , controllers can also be remapped or customized to suit player preference.
