The Isle of Spires Ruin is the westernmost Relic Ruin in Horizon Forbidden West, and completing it will award players 5,000 XP, two skill points, and the eighth ornament, Golden Toucans. Aloy will need to visit the Isle of Spires Ruin as part of the main story. The ruins can be entered through an opening on the northern side of the building heading west past the Campfire. In order to complete the ruins, players will need to find a key and visit two areas in the building to determine the code for the final door where the ornament is located.
After entering the ruins, players can swim south out of the building to salvage a Horizon Forbidden West Ancient Valuables Box. Inside the building, there will be some Firegleam on the right side near the water which can be set off to open up another path to the outside. Across the water, players will see a door with a Datapoint and Key Module that can be scanned for more information. There are two sets of numbers to find that make up the door code, and a key that's located in the bottom section of the building beneath the ground level where Aloy entered the ruins.
From the locked door, players will need to turn around and dive down into the pool of water swimming toward a door that leads to a Horizon Forbidden West's Aloy can then stand on the crate and shoot through the hole in the wall to knock down the ladder hanging on the other side.
Finding the Isle of Spires Ruin Door Code & Key in Horizon Forbidden West
After knocking down the ladder, players can destroy the Metal Flower on the platform where they pulled the box to return to the main room with the locked door. There's also an Ancient Supply Chest on the same ledge as the Metal Flower. To get to the ladder, players can swim away from the locked door and through a narrow ageway. If players dive down into the water beneath the ladder, they can locate a Horizon Forbidden West Ancient Supply Box. The Key Module can be reached by climbing the ladder and jumping to the ledge across from it. Once the key is collected, players can focus on finding the seven-digit code for the door.
The last three digits of the door code can be found by exiting the building and climbing up on the northeast side next to the Campfire. After climbing as high as possible, there will be an elevator that needs power. In the back section, there's a room with a vent that can be pulled down, then Aloy in Horizon Forbidden West can climb through the vent to reach a room with a Charge Socket. Setting off the Firegleam will open up a path to the Energy Cell, then players can move it into the Charge Socket before delivering it to the elevator.
The elevator leads to the bottom where the crate is, so players can drag it into the elevator and use it to get to higher floors in the building. There's an Ancient Valuables Chest on the ledge immediately after players climb up to the ledge from the crate. After climbing up and jumping to the next building, there will be an Ancient Valuables Box to collect as well. In this building, players will find a room with an Ancient Supply Box and a Datapoint to scan revealing that the code is 10 followed by the number of the floor that Horizon Forbidden West's Aloy is currently on, which is the ninth floor. The last three digits of the door code are 109. Next, players can head back down to the main room where the locked door is.
There's a climbable column in the middle covered in moss, and at the top Aloy can grapple to the next floor where there's an Ancient Supply Box to collect. From there, Aloy can use another Grapple Point to get to the higher floor. There's a pipe that leads to yet another Grapple Point Aloy can use to get across to the ledge. Next, players will need to go left and through the room to reach the next pipe that Aloy can walk out on. There will be a crate across the gap on a ledge that needs to be pulled down into the water below using the Pullcaster skill in Horizon Forbidden West. After jumping down, players can turn around and swim in between the locked door and where the ladder was to reach a new section.
Inside the next room, there's a vent that can be pulled down. To reach the opening, players will need to drag the crate they just pulled down under the vent, then jump up and crawl through to the other side. There's a ledge to the right that Aloy can jump to, then the Datapoint can be found in the room on the left. On the right side of the room, players can also grab an Ancient Supply Chest. Scanning the Datapoint will reveal the first four digits in the door code: 2109. With the rest of the code discovered, players can head back down to unlock the door in Horizon Forbidden West and complete the Isle of Spires Ruin.
The Key Module can be used, then players can enter the code 2109109 to open the door. Inside, Aloy can collect the Golden Toucans Ornament. The Relic Ruins are part of two different trophies in Horizon Forbidden West. Players will need to complete one Relic Ruin for the Recovered 5 Different Collectables trophy, and three Ruins for the Completed 3 Relic Ruins trophy. The Isle of Spires Ruin is one of eight Relic Ruins that can be completed in Horizon Forbidden West.
Horizon Forbidden West is available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
