One of the most popular ways for fans to celebrate their favorite movies, video games, and comic books is with well-made and detailed action figures. Hot Toys is one of the leading manufactures in the market due to their attention to detail and large collection of movie licenses that allow them to produce great collectibles from all kinds of fan-favorite films.
While we may be guilty of focusing on the MCU or Star Wars collectors out there, the time felt right to also take a look at some great collectibles from Hot Toys that didn't come from a superhero blockbuster. Today we are going to take a look at 10 Hot Toys figures all movie fans will love and want to add to their collection!
NEWT SCAMANDER
Fans of the Harry Potter franchise have been enjoying their trip back to the Wizarding World with the Fantastic Beasts franchise, which follows the adventures of Newt Scamander as he finds fantastic beasts while dealing with some early magical history.
The Hot Toys figure is based on Eddie Redmayne's portrayal of Newt from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and this special edition comes with a number of great accessories. Not only does Newt have his trusty wand and suitcase, as well as interchangeable hands for posing, but he comes with a few beasts in tow, including a full-grown Niffler!
JACK SPARROW
Johnny Depp wowed fans and launched an incredibly successful franchise for Disney with his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean films. Beginning with Curse of the Black Pearl, Sparrow stumbled and bumbled his way through five films of pirate adventures and developed a huge fan base.
One of the best Hot Toys figures was actually based on Sparrow's appearance in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which takes the lead over some of the other film's figures due to the accessories and amazing base, which features a sinking pirate ship and a circling shark with the Jolly Roger flying high.
THE CROW
There have been a few attempts to bring The Crow back to the big screen over the big years, and a few sequels and TV series, but the best Crow of the bunch will always be the original Eric Draven, played by Brandon Lee. This version of the Crow has developed a cult fan base around the film that is unfortunately connected to the tragic death of Lee during filming.
However you choose to collect, this fantastic Eric Draven figure from Hot Toys is based on Brandon lee's likeness in his iconic Crow makeup and stitched leather outfit, complete with his flowing overcoat. The figure also features a number of interchangeable hands, his mystical crow, and his trusty guitar.
BATTLE DAMAGED TERMINATOR
As we get ready for the next installment in the Terminator franchise, we still find ourselves looking back to the earlier films to relive our fond memories. This makes a lot of sense considering the last few didn't quite capture what made James Cameron's first two Terminator films so iconic.
Hot Toys has produced the battle-damaged T-800 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which features Arnold Schwarzenegger's likeness in various stages of disrepair that expose his robotic skeleton underneath. The figure features a number of battle-damaged accessories, clothes, and interchangeable hands, as well as a sculpt of the T-1000 Terminator's liquid metal form.
CITY HUNTER PREDATOR
Another classic action series that has introduced a number of great collectibles for fans is the Predator franchise, whose alien species have appeared in 6 films, including two crossovers with the Aliens franchise. While there were some truly amazing Predator figures available, for our money the City Hunter Predator is the best option.
Based on the Predator as he appeared in Predator 2 opposite Danny Glover, the City Hunter was kind of self-explanatory as he searched the city of LA for his prey, as opposed to the jungle setting of the first film. The City Hunter Predator's simplicity allows for an amazing level of detail, and the unmasked head sculpt even features articulated alien mandibles!
JOHN WICK
Keanu Reeves has been turned into a toy quite a few times, with Hot Toys even preparing a Ted "Theodore" Logan figure from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure that will be coming out soon. TO hold you until then, Hot Toys has released another fan-favorite Keanu character, and yeah, we're guessing he's back.
John Wick's Hot Toys figure features some fo the same amazing attention to detail in their head sculpts that perfectly captures Reeves' likeness. The figure also comes with a wide selection of weapons that even John would be impressed with. This figure is technically based on his Chapter 2 appearance so even comes with a little battle damage.
ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL
Fans have seen a lot of failed American anime adaptations over the years, so it was refreshing to see Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron's successful take on the Battle Angel Alita manga/anime. The renamed Alita: Battle Angel was both critically and financially successful, and fans are hoping to see a sequel.
Until then, we can all celebrate our love for the film with Hot Toys impressive Alita figure, which features an exquisitely detailed robotic body that looks great both alone and covered in her leather bodysuit from the film. The head sculpt is unique due to the film's CG manipulation of Rose Salazar's eyes, which Hot Toys captures perfectly.
HELLBOY
Now, even if fans weren't as crazy about the most recent Hellboy which starred Stranger Things' David Harbour, there's no denying they brought a nearly comic-accurate Hellboy to the screen. Hot Toys has produced a figure based on the latest film adaptation that truly offers unlimited posing options.
Not only does the figure feature an incredible likeness of Harbour's Hellboy, but collectors can also choose no horns or horns with a flaming crown. The figure features different clothing options which include a B.P.R.D. shirt, plus multiple Hand of Doom options as well as swords with interchangeable fire and energy effects.
ELLEN RIPLEY
The Alien franchise, like the Predator franchise it so often crosses over with, was made for toys. The various xenomorphs fans have seen over the course of the Alien franchise have given Hot Toys and other figure producers a lot of source material to mine for Alien collectors.
However, one of the best figures still comes from the first film and isn't an alien xenomorph at all. Hot Toys Ellen Ripley figure is based on Sigourney Weaver's likeness from Alien and comes with some great accessories that include a tracking device, flamethrower, and even Jones the Cat in his carrier.
MARTY MCFLY
Hot Toys have produced some fantastic Back to the Future figures over the years, with one of the highlights of the line being the Delorean Time Machine. However, the company has also released a fantastic Marty McFly figure based on his original Back to the Future appearance
With Michael J. Fox's likeness perfectly captured and his clothing tailored to perfectly match his 1985 style, the figure is truly a masterpiece of film recreation. Some of the accessories include his camcorder, skateboard, backpack, sunglasses, and of course, walkman. This is the Marty McFly toy other McFly toys strive to become, and it would look great in any BTTF fan's collection.
