There were very few shows like plot-twisting storylines was nothing short of remarkable. Despite the huge cast, each one had more than their fair time to shine in the spotlight. Viewers were given two clear choices when it came to each-- hate or love.

By the end, it was time to reflect on the cast and how loyal HTGAWM viewers felt about each and their ending. Did Annalise Keating get what she deserved? Did Oliver do the right thing and wait for Connor Walsh? Were viewers sad to see Frank and Bonnie die?

Wes Gibbins (Didn't)

Wes looking surprised in How To Get Away With Murder

While death has been certain for anyone on How To Get Away With Murder, Wes was the first of the Keating 5 to meet his demise. The reason Wes did not deserve his ending was that he provided too much to the storyline. Alive, it was about uncovering the truth and the past of Annalise Keating.

To add more, there was the budding relationship with Laurel and then the birth of their child Christopher. Why take away a child's parent on a show that clearly needed family stability especially when describing the past storyline of Wes and his upbringing?

Laurel Castillo (Did)

Karla Souza as Laurel in How to Get Away With Murder

There was no way How To Get Away With Murder could have killed Laurel off. Her character was spoiled rotten but she had great purpose. Was she always forthcoming? No. But raised the way she was and by whom, the audience learned to accept her actions.

Her death would not have been fair. With Wes dead, Christopher needed a parent. Think of everything she has been through. laurel was part of the Keating 5 but in a sense, it always appeared that she was off on her own. She and Christopher at the end was the best ending.

Annalise Keating (Didn't)

How to Get Away With Murder Annalise

As the mastermind behind all the lies, fans have wondered since the ending of the show if Annalise Keating got off easy? While she didn't actually commit any of the murders, she made the call or either put the thought in people's heads to carry the act out.

Seeing Annalise live out her life was a bit of a slap in the face. Sam paid the price. Frank and Bonnie paid with their lives as well as Wes and Asher. But the mastermind, she lived a full life. There were no repercussions for her actions and decisions. She deserved worse.

Connor Walsh (Did)

Connor in HTGAWM

At times, Connor could come off as a complete moron. He was self,-centered in the begging until he met Oliver then changed a bit to become somewhat more understanding of others around him. Oliver did indeed make him better. His quest for wanting to know why Annalise picked him became rather annoying in the final season.

When the chips were on the table, Connor did what many thought he couldn't do-- he grew up and accepted the responsibility of his actions. He tried to cut Oliver off but his husband was having no parts of that.

Michaela Pratt (Didn't)

Michaela in HTGAWM

Michaela is just as guilty as any of the others but what makes her standout out is her selfish ways. But she's always been that way. Michaela was a villain without the writers making her one on purpose. She was part of the team but never really part of the team.

In the end, she became a Judge but stayed clear of jail time unlike Connor who itted his fault and took the fall. Michaela took the easy way out and because of that, got what she finally wanted-- her distance.

Frank Delfino (Did)

Frank Delfino from How To Get Away WIth Murder

Let's not forget that Frank has done some evil things over the length of How To Get Away With Murder. Frank was the cleanup man for Annalise and took great pride in that. He was a protector to the group and would do whatever had to be done to make sure they were in the clear.

What made Frank so appealing was that the writers did a marvelous job of humanizing Frank. Viewers felt sorry for him which in turn almost made them understand the awful deeds he did. His death was a long time coming and something he made his peace with a while ago.

Bonnie Winterbottom (Didn't)

Bonnie Winterbottom in How To Get Away With Murder

Bonnie was a strange character. On one hand, you wanted to hate her but on the other hand, you felt the need to comfort her. Bonnie, much like Frank carried out the bad deeds for Annalise behind the scenes. Bonnie, in her own way, caused harm to more people than the kids did.

But still, did she deserve to die for all that? No. Her love for Frank was real but make her let suffer from guilt, not take her life. Bonnie was easily the most confused character on the show, she has a heart of gold but spent the entire series searching for the approval of others in which she would never get.

Nate Lahey (Did)

Nate Lahey in How To Get Away With Murder

Nate did what he did out of love and protection much like Frank. But then he even had enough of Annalise's lies and wanted out. Later on, it became revenge that drove Nate off the deep and which was understandable. Someone murdered his father and he wanted revenge and answers.

Nate was no boy scout, he did have his flaws but his character was one that got caught up in a web of lies and backstabbing. Nate making it out alive may have been the only outcome of the series that completely made sense. This is what he deserved.

Asher Millstone (Didn't)

Asher from How to Get Away With Murder, standing in the dark, looking scared.

Being goofy does not mean death. Yes, Asher was set to turn in Annalise and his friends but he chose family over them. It may have come across as a little selfish but Asher was put in a tight spot. Viewers didn't care too much for Asher at first but his death shook loyal viewers of How To Get Away With Murder.

Much like Nate, Asher should have been one of the ones to walk away. Marrying Michaela was a definite no but finishing his life sitting on a Supreme Court bench would have been a better ending than what he received in the hallway.

Gabriel Maddox (Did)

How To Get Away WIth Murder Gabriel Maddox

Gabriel ed the cast looking for answers and revenge. From his point of view, Annalise Keating was the bad guy who destroyed his family but he would soon learn that his father Sam wasn't as clean-cut as his mother made him out to be.

Gabriel left the show with a suitcase of money after witnessing the murder of Asher. Gabriel was never a threat to anyone. He talked big like his mother but death was not on the table for him. All he wanted was answers regarding his past.
