Fans Don't Get To Choose Which Episode They Attend

As is the case with most shows shot in front of a live studio audience, prospective audience must enter a lottery to get tickets for Saturday Night Live. As laid out on each new season of SNL. If selected, audience aren't able to choose a specific night and must attend the show that they were randomly chosen for. Winners receive two Saturday Night Live tickets only, and they come at no cost.

All ticket requests must be sent to [email protected], and potential applicants must include their name, email address, and succinct reason why the applicant wants to attend the show. The only requirement for being an SNL audience member is being over the age of 16 at the time of filming, and a valid photo I.D. must be presented or else the audience member will not be itted to the show.

The lottery isn't the only way to score Saturday Night Live tickets, and NBC also offers a standby option for those hoping to see the show. The NBC website offers a standby ticket portal that opens at 10 a.m. on any Thursday before a show night.

Potential viewers can request up to four standby spots but due to limited capacity, they are on a first come, first served basis. The request process has the same requirements as the lottery ticket option. If chosen, the entire party must check in the Friday before the show though no standby guest is guaranteed a seat at Saturday Night Live until show time.
