After giving a glimpse of the silo Steven Zahn's Solo grew up in, Silo season 2 switches to the present events and unfolds Juliette and Silo 18's story.

Throughout its runtime, Silo season 2 drops bits and pieces about Solo's backstory without fully giving away how old he is and how long he has spent in the vault. The introduction of a few new Silo 17 survivors in Apple TV+ sci-fi show's episode 9 provides some concrete answers surrounding Silo 17's history and its survivors.

Silo Confirmed The Rebellion Happened At Least 30 Years Ago

Eater's Backstory Draws A Clear Picture Of The Overarching Timeline

When Juliette asks Eater how old she was when Silo 17's rebellion happened, Eater reveals she was not even born during the event. She adds that her mother was also a child when the rebellion took place, suggesting that her mother was one of the survivors and had her after the rebellion. Since Eater is easily above 12 years old in the show's present timeline, and her mother was a child when the rebellion happened, it is hard not to believe the rebellion happened more than three decades before the show's present events.

Given how a lot has happened since the rebellion in Silo 17, it would make sense if over 30 years have ed since it happened.

In Silo season 2's episode 9, Eater also reveals that Audrey's father, Chase, and Rick's mother, Tess, got together after many parents started dying. This suggests that Audrey and Tess were born after the rebellion but before their parents, Chase and Tess, got together. The parents seemingly lived long enough to watch many other survivors die — likely from hunger and illness — before deciding to break into Solo's vault to feed their children. After getting together, they also had one more child: Peter. Much later, Audrey and Rick had a baby, who they hope to feed by accessing Solo's vault in episode 9.
