Wanda Maximoff is one of the MCU's most popular and acclaimed characters. Thanks to Elizabeth Olsen's performance and the excellent development Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness discarded that development and made Wanda a full-on villain.
The character is now on a break --she's most likely not dead --, but the MCU needs to work hard and give Wanda her redemption. Her actions in Multiverse of Madness were harsh and reprehensible, but there's still a way for Wanda to redeem herself if the MCU is willing to put in the work.
More Mutants
Fans have been waiting for mutants to arrive at the MCU for years. Many believed it would happen during WandaVision, but the show ultimately avoided any mention of them in favor of a Wanda and Vision-centric storyline. Multiverse of Madness was another opportunity to introduce them, but the film chose to remain solely focused on Wanda's grief, which resulted in a sharper plot.
Having Wanda bring the mutants to the MCU would be the fastest way to redeem her in the eyes of fans. It would be a cheap narrative choice that opted for the easy way out, but it would work like a charm. Hopefully, the MCU will work on Wanda's redemption and won't expect one action to erase her many crimes.
Make Reparations To Westview
WandaVision is objectively the best MCU streaming show, at least according to Metacritic. The series showcased its title characters, adding more layers to their already complex characterization and exploring their psyche thoughtfully and satisfyingly. It also introduced new crucial characters and successfully advanced the MCU's overall story in a way few other shows did.
For all its flaws, WandaVision made the egregious mistake of basically ignoring Wanda's crimes against Westview. She never even apologized; instead, she released them and walked away. An important part of Wanda's redemption will be acknowledging that her actions in Westview were wrong. Ideally, she should also make reparations to the severely traumatized inhabitants of the town; it's the least she can do.
Make Reparations To Kamar-Taj
Among Wanda's many crimes in Multiverse of Madness is the destruction of Kamar-Taj. The sequence is one of Wanda's best fight scenes in the MCU, but it doesn't take from the fact that she kills many sorcerers during the battle, showing no remorse for her actions and confirming that many characters were right in fearing her.
The temple is under reconstruction at the end of the movie, but Wanda should still work alongside the sorcerers to earn back their trust. She can reinforce the sanctuary to prevent another witchcraft attack or even become a teacher for new generations. However, she must do something to repair the damage she did; earning back the sorcerer's trust won't be easy, but she needs to at least try.
Agatha Harkness
Kathryn Hahn's delightfully wicked take on Agatha Harkness was one of the best parts of WandaVision. The seasoned comedienne breathed new life into the role, making it one of the most unforgettable in Phase 4. Agatha ends the show trapped under the Agnes persona and living in Westview, but she'll return starring in a spin-off show titled Agatha: House of Harkness.
Fans would love to see Wanda reuniting with Agatha. Having them work together on a common goal would be a perfect way to redeem or at least set them on the path to redemption. Agatha and Wanda have a mentor-student relationship in the comics, and the MCU would greatly benefit from translating that dynamic into live-action.
The Darkhold
Comic book fans know the Darkhold is dangerous in the wrong hands. The MCU confirms this by having the book corrupt those who read it, including Agatha and Wanda. The latter seemingly destroys the book at the end of Multiverse of Madness, but there is no confirmation of its destruction, and if Wanda survived, the Darkhold could've too.
Agatha and Wanda could team up to destroy the Darkhold for good; there might be another version of it across the multiverse -- after all, Mount Wundagore was the Darkhold's true birthplace on Earth-616. If the book is indeed no more, Wanda could make sure its influence is no longer active, acting as a keeper or protector.
Help America Find Her Mothers
Multiverse of Madness does a good job setting up America Chavez's journey, including the hope of her finding her mothers someday. The film's choice to have America's mothers lost in the multiverse was surprising and somewhat divisive, but it could make for a compelling story.
Wanda needs to make amends with America, especially considering how much damage she inflicted on the girl. And what's a better way than by helping America locate her mothers? Wanda holds considerable power and could help narrow the search and protect America from any multiversal threat. The two could also become a teacher-student combo, further helping Wanda let go of her dark past.
Billy & Tommy
The twins, Billy and Tommy, are the reason behind the Scarlet Witch's actions during Multiverse of Madness. She seemingly creates them on every Earth -- there's no confirmation they are her biological children on Earth-838 either --, meaning her story with them is far from over.
Billy and Tommy's souls came into existence to different parents in the comics, but they eventually grew to become mutants, rekindling their connection to Wanda. If the MCU follows suit, then becoming a mother and mentor to her twins would be the perfect way for Wanda to redeem herself. She could even play a part in bringing the Young Avengers together, providing assistance and guidance.
The Ultimate Sacrifice
Some of pop culture's best heroes meet their dooms at the end of their journeys. It's a way to immortalize their legacies while providing an epic conclusion to their stories. The MCU already did this with Iron Man, and they could also go this route with Wanda.
Multiverse of Madness tries to do this with Wanda collapsing Mount Wundagore on herself, but the execution is off, rendering the sacrifice ineffective. However, bringing Wanda back and setting her on a path of redemption that eventually leads to her sacrifice for the greater good would be the perfect way to end her storyline. She might've lived as a villain, but she should die a hero.
