The process described below is valid only when changing the number on the same phone and not when switching to a new phone altogether. Then, from the drop-down menu, select 'Settings' and then go to '' from the available options. Thereafter, tap on 'Change Number' and then hit the 'Next' button on the following screen to move ahead. On the next screen, s will need to enter their current and new WhatsApp numbers, complete with country code. Once both the numbers are entered correctly, hit the green 'Next' button at the bottom to move to the next stage.
Notify s About The Change In Phone Number
s will also be given the option to notify their s about the change in their WhatsApp phone number. If they choose to turn on 'Notify s', they will be able to choose whether to notify all s or only the ones they have had chats with in the past. s can also select custom s, which will allow them to handpick the people that will be notified about the change. All group chats will be automatically notified regardless of whether the chooses to notify their s or not. Finally, to the new number with WhatsApp, s will have to it using a 6-digit verification code that will be delivered via SMS.
Before beginning the process, s will have to insert the new SIM card into the phone and make sure that it can receive phone calls and SMS. It is also important to ensure that the old phone number is still ed with WhatsApp. s can check the ed phone number by going over to their WhatsApp settings menu and tapping on their profile photo. There, they will find their name and phone number ed with the app. Once all the steps are cleared, s can follow the steps mentioned above to change their WhatsApp number. The final thing to note is that s can only change their WhatsApp number on Android and iOS, but not on the Windows and Mac clients.
