All Sims 4 Career Cheats (& How to Use Them)

A big part of simulating life in The Sims 4 is getting a dream job and earning promotions over time with hard work. Sometimes, however, to create your dream world, it's more fun to get to a desired career level or position than to work on climbing the corporate ladder. Thankfully, unlike in the real world, Sims 4 players don't have to wait and grind to achieve their career dreams; they can use cheats instead.

Every full-time and part-time career in The Sims 4 and its DLCs has an associated promotion cheat. In addition, cheats can be used to demote a Sim who has been promoted too soon. While there are many good reasons to use career promotion cheats, including creating a Sim with the ideal high-paying career and job title from near the start of the game, the decision to use cheats in The Sims 4 will ultimately come down to a player's personal preference. How to Use Career Cheats in The Sims 4

Open The Console and Input Cheats

Inputting career cheats in The Sims 4 is the same as inputting any other cheat. First, open the console. To do this, use the following:

Windows: Ctrl + Shift + C.
Mac: Command + Shift + C
PlayStation: L1, L2, R1, and R2
Xbox: LB, LT, RB, and RT

Then, input the code testingcheats true or testingcheats on to ensure cheats are enabled. Once cheats are enabled, click the Sim who has ed the career you want to promote. From there, you will be able to input the promotion cheats. You may only use cheats for careers from the base game and DLC packs you own in The Sims 4.

For most careers, each cheat promotes the Sim by one level. All full-time careers in The Sims 4 have 10 named levels of promotion, except Self-Employment and the Freelancer career. Career promotions in The Sims 4 typically involve a new title, a pay raise to help them earn Simoleons faster, vacation days, working days, a bonus, and reward items and interactions. Past a certain point, promotions usually only involve a pay raise. Most full-time Sims 4 careers branch off into two possible "tracks," and Sims can typically choose their desired track at specific promotion levels.

All part-time careers in The Sims 4 have three levels of promotion and do not include tracks. Active careers also do not have tracks.
