Removing the Tharchiate Withering curse in Baldur's Gate 3 can be quite an ordeal, especially since getting cursed is quite rare. The can inflict many curses that directly impact saving throws, health, checks, and attacks. Cursed items can also cost you quite a bit for a minor bonus.
You can get the Tharchiate Withering curse from a cursed book on necromancy that can be found in the Elminster Valut. This curse is quite effective as it can reduce your Constitution by five points and dangerously limit your health. Luckily, there's a simple move you will have easy access to, whether personally or through a companion.
How To Cure Tharchiate Withering & Other Curses In BG3
Use The Remove Curse Spell Or Scroll
To get rid of most curses, including the Tharchiate Withering, you will need to know the spell Remove Curse. This spell is a Level 3 Abjuration Spell that removes most curses caused by enemies or even cursed items like a book. This spell is available to Clerics, Warlocks, Wizards, and Paladins of the Oath of Devotion and can be learned via the Scroll of Remove Curse . Since it's an Action Spell, you can quickly recover from any curse that may afflict you.

Rare Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 Dialogue Proves That Minthara Has A Heart
Minthara is known as one of Baldur's Gate 3's coldest companions, but a new piece of dialogue added in Patch 7 proves that she has a heart.
Note that you will need to be at Level 5 or higher to cast the spell, and if you do not have access to the Remove Curse spell, you can also use one of your companions to cast the spell. Luckily, Shadowheart is a useful High Cleric who knows the Remove Curse spell. You can direct her to use the spell on you or any other party , and your ailments will be removed.
You can also teach the Remove Curse spell to Gale or Wyll since their classes can learn the spell. It's likely a good idea to ensure a few party know this spell so you're not restricted to having one party member for it and so you don't end up in a bad situation if you opt not to use that member.
If you still lack a companion or class to cast Remove Curse, your only option will be to find a Scroll of Remove Curse. This scroll can be purchased from vendors in Baldur's Gate 3 or stumbled upon while collecting loot, such as on the second floor of the Arcane Tower in the Underdark. You can also use the Greater Restoration spell to remove curses, but as this requires level 9, it's unlikely you may have this either if you do not have Remove Curse.

Baldur's Gate 3: All Ritual Spells, Ranked
Baldur's Gate 3 has nine amazing spells that don't need the party to spend precious spell slots to gain their benefits, but which is the most useful?
If your only option for removing a curse at the moment is to hope you find a specific scroll somewhere, you are better off avoiding the Tharchiate Codex or any items that bestow curses. Furthermore, if you do happen on the scroll, it is highly recommended that you use it to teach a party member the spell, not as just a one-time use, unless you don't have anyone who can learn it in your current Baldur's Gate 3 party, and you're desperate.
