The event is called Graduate Together: America Honors the High School Class of 2020 and it'll be streamed online for free and broadcast on national television.

The coronavirus pandemic has derailed just about every type of public gathering but it took a while for people to realize the impact it would have on graduation season. Since the virus didn't reach the level of being a pandemic until some time in February 2020, most people weren't debating what effects it would have on their summer plans. Social distancing guidelines have been in effect in most of the world for at least five weeks now and, even though some places are coming out of isolation, data suggests the virus could rebound and overwhelm hospitals if we're not careful.
