Warning: Spoilers for Godzilla vs. Hulk #1The day has finally arrived, with Godzilla vs. Hulk bringing together fiction's two strongest green monsters for one battle. But instead of a winner, Marvel Comics has delivered a form of Godzilla nobody even knew to expect. The Godzilla-Hulk is here, and it is beautiful.

The one-shot comic book is just the latest in Marvel's larger line of Godzilla vs. stories, pitting the iconic kaiju against the likes of the Fantastic Four, Thor, and even Spider-Man . But all this time fans were spending wondering if future crossovers would finally make the Venomized Godzilla a reality, they should really have been waiting to see how Bruce Banner would his own Hulk power onto the movie icon. After all, anger is in both of their blood.

Hulk Pours His Blood Into Godzilla in Marvel Comic Crossover

The creative team of Gerry Duggan, Giuseppe Camuncoli, Daniele Orlandini, and Federico Blee don't waste any time in Godzilla vs. Hulk #1, imagining a world in which Bruce Banner has suppressed his Hulk identity to serve at the side of Thunderbolt Ross. But when saving the world means saving Godzilla itself, Banner uses his gamma-powered blood (and a massive electric shock) to create a new form of Godzilla, angrier and more powerful than ever before.

Bruce Banner Reveals His Hulk Persona To Save The Kaiju in Combat

As the military team charged with wiping out the threat of Godzilla, Kumonga, and the always-underrated Mothra in this version of Marvel's Earth, Ross has a predicatbly corrupt and cruel means of saving the day. Using Kumonga attacking Mothra as bait, and deploying a pair of Stark-enhanced Mechagodzillas into the fight, things go from bad to worse. To take on the supreme threat of Hedorah, Hulk recognizes that he'll need to fight with Godzilla at his side.

Calling upon all his refined medical expertise, "Dr. Hulk" jolts the unconscious Godzilla with as much electricity as the power grid can manage, with a chaser of his own blood (making the brilliant assertion that "Hulk blood help lizard!"). Help the lizard it does, giving Hulk a new ally powerful enough to obliterate Hedorah in moments.

Godzilla-Hulk is Born, From Banner's Gamma Blood

The Ability To 'Hulk Out' Makes Godzilla More Powerful Than Ever

Following the tease of Godzilla's eyes turning "gamme green," the true transformation is revealed in one breathtaking splash page: Hulk's superpowered blood transfuses with the kaiju, creating the Godzilla-Hulk. The extended fiction of the character's universe has created Godzilla gaining access to the Power Cosmic, for instance, to stand toe-to-toe with Silver Surfer.

By imbuing Godzilla's body with his own gamma energy, Bruce Banner is more accurately allowing Godzilla to channel its anger into power. Not only granting Godzilla the ability to physically 'Hulk out' in a more muscular, humanoid appearance, but turn its anger into energy. And with so much to be angry about, there is simply no way to rival the raw fury of a Godzilla infused with the rage and power of a Hulk family member.

With Godzilla's gamma-powered fury calming by the end of the issue (alongside Banner's own), readers will be left wondering how Marvel will top this battle with the Godzilla vs. Thor coming this July. It's been confirmed that the next match-up will unleash new magical powers for Godzilla to wield in battle against Thor, so it seems that the creation of the Godzilla-Hulk is only a taste of what else Marvel Comics has in store.
