Iron Fist's Underrated Heroes Get a Horrifying Upgrade
Marvel recently launched its new Ultimate Universe continuity in 2023's Ultimate Invasion (Jonathan Hickman and Bryan Hitch.) In that story, the supergenius villain known as the Maker escaped Marvel's main reality and traveled to a new universe known as Earth-6160. There, he used his advanced science and time travel to warp this world's timeline to serve his purposes, crowning himself the ruler of the entire planet. A group of villains known as the Maker's Council serve under him, each ruling a different territory in this new and broken world.
Recently, the Maker was imprisoned for two years, giving Tony Stark's rebel heroes the Ultimates the chance to destroy his power base before his return. Sadly, the Maker's Council are making that difficult, with Hulk taking charge of the group in the Maker's absence. Hulk's first move was a massive attack on New York for which he framed the Ultimates, but Tony Stark's heroes didn't lose heart. They've continued gathering heroes from across the world, chipping away at the Maker's mechanisms of control and preparing to take on the Maker's Council. Now, the Hulk is making his own play.

Every Version of Red Hulk in Marvel Lore (Ranked Weakest to Strongest)
Red Hulk is one of Marvel's most powerful characters, but since his 2008 introduction, there are many more versions than just General Ross.
The Immortal Weapons are Marvel's greatest warriors of all time, but with no connection to Hulk lore before now.
Who Are the Immortal Weapons?
Iron Fist Is Just One of Several World-Class Warriors
The Immortal Weapons are an aspect of Iron Fist lore which was introduced in 2007's Immortal Iron Fist #8, by Ed Brubaker, Matt Fraction and David Aja. Just as Iron FIst is the chosen warrior of K'un-Lun, there are seven other mystic cities (aka the Seven Capital Cities of Heaven), each with their own protector. Each hero is the latest link in a chain of legendary warriors, with their own unique powers and expertise. While one of the 'Capital Cities of Heaven' was locked away until recently and the other has been lacking a champion since they were killed by Iron Fist's predecessor, the traditional roster of the Immortal Weapons is as follows:

The Crane Champion of K'un-Zi can only be chosen once every 300 years, and the current incumbent was killed by former Iron First Orson Randall. The city's ruler Crane Mother attempted to recruit Iron Fist's enemy Davos to the role, though he was ultimately rejected. Meanwhile, the 'Eighth City' is a fallen realm erased from history by the other Capital Cities of Heaven and used to house monsters and criminals.
Each of these beings slew an immortal dragon in order to claim their title, and has spent their lives fighting aliens, monsters and each other to hone their abilities. Apparently, in the new timeline created by the Maker, the Seven Capital Cities of Heaven were seized by his regime and their protectors given to the Hulk. The Immortal Weapons have no prior connection to Hulk lore, making this a major surprise from the Ultimate Universe. However, Al Ewing and Joe Bennett's celebrated Immortal Hulk did employ the same adjective, perhaps inspiring this explosive new development.

Marvel Finally Debuts a Canon Orange Hulk (Created by the Infinity Stones)
After years of teasing, Marvel fans finally get an Orange Hulk, as the Infinity Stones' unpredictable power changes the game yet again.
A cult leader who has carried out extensive experiments on innocent people, the Legendary Hulk has quickly become Marvel's most despicable villain.

She-Hulk's Origin Revealed How Corrupt Banner Has Become
While the Ultimate Universe's 'Legendary Hulk' has been a major villain so far, Ultimates #3 took his infamy to the next level. The issue revealed that in his role as part of the Maker's regime, Bruce Banner carried out extensive gamma testing on innocent people, deliberately radiating them and causing immensely painful mutations. While his experiments turned Lejori Zakaria into the Ultimate She-Hulk, they extensively harmed the other inhabitants of her Pacific island home, including turning so many of the island's plants and animals into deadly gamma mutates that the location has been nicknamed 'Monster Island' by the Maker's Council.
While all the Maker's Council need to be brought down hard, the last few months of Ultimate storytelling have seen the Hulk - in this world the leader of a religious order known as the Children of Eternal Light - become the face of evil in the Ultimate Universe. The Maker will remain locked away for over a year (with each Ultimates comic counting off another month to his return), making the Hulk the first real test of the team Tony Stark has given everything to pull together.

Hulk vs Thor Rematch Settles the Strongest Avenger with a Fight to the Death

Hulk vs Ultimates will mark the team's first year of operation, testing whether all Tony's work has been in vain.

Hulk Isn't the Big Boss, But He's a HUGE Threat
Marvel has confirmed that December's Ultimate Universe: One Year In will set the stage for the second year of Ultimate storytelling. This will coincide with November's Ultimates #6 uniting the full Ultimates Roster for the first time. This context makes Hulk a major test waiting at the end of the Ultimates' first year, revealing whether Tony's work has all been in vain. However, while fans thought they Ultimates would be teaming up against the Hulk, it turns out the challenge will be much bigger.
Merciless, cruel and devoid of any sense of morality, the Hulk just tipped the scales in his favor by empowering Marvel's greatest living warriors with gamma radiation, adding near-infinite strength to their incomparable levels of skill. Hopefully, the Ultimates have what it takes to match this deadly new team of kung-fu Hulks, because if not, their revolution will fall at the first true hurdle.
The Ultimates #6 is coming November 16 from Marvel Comics.
