THOR vs. HULK: A ZOMBIE SMACKDOWN FOR THE AGES! Banner must get to Avengers Tower to make an antidote to the virus, but to get through the infested streets he'll have to travel as Hulk. The big green guy may be invulnerable to nasty bites, but he'd also rather smash the zombies instead of save them! Poor Groot needs to usher the uncontrollable beast through the horde, but his task is only complicated when an undead Thor shows up. If Groot wants to prevent Hulk from killing his fellow Avenger, he'll need to think fast!

Because of the zombie infection, Thor is out for all the flesh he can eat, and Hulk only sees him as a deadly threat. Usually, Thor's affection for Bruce Banner stops him going all-out against the Hulk, while Hulk's own subconscious desire to protect the innocent means he's never trying to kill Thor (and is generally focused on protecting life, even as his rampages cause massive property damage.) Now, Thor and Hulk are both done holding back, and if they both survive the fight, it'll only be because Groot found a way to break them apart.

Marvel Zombies Gives Fans a Hulk vs Thor Rematch With No Limits

Hulk and Thor Have a LONG Rivalry, But They Rarely Have Lethal Intent

Hulk and Thor have a long history, stretching back to 1963's Avengers #1 from Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. The two immediately butted heads, and Hulk quickly left the team because he believed they'd never trust him. While Hulk and Thor have fought side-by-side since, their relationship has also proved Hulk right - they rarely go more than a few years without finding an excuse to mix it up once again, with each secretly resenting the other - Hulk for how Thor is accepted by humanity, and Thor for how Hulk seemingly wastes his immense potential (as well as how, as a product of science, Hulk's very existence threatens the primacy of the gods.)

Thor believes that Hulk is essentially a manmade god, naming him 'Midgard's God of Wrath' during a pitched battle in Al Ewing and Joe Bennett's Immortal Hulk.

It's generally accepted that Hulk is stronger while - with his weather powers and enchanted hammer - Thor is more versatile, however past fights have proved there's less of a gap between them than many assume, and each is capable of killing the other. With Thor consumed by supernatural hunger and the Hulk seeing him solely as a threat for the first time, it's anyone's guess who will kill who if the fight goes as far as it could.

Hopefully, fellow Marvel powerhouse Groot will find a way to come between zombie Thor and zombie-killer Hulk, because if these two titans are left to their own devices, then their latest rematch will definitively settle Marvel's strongest Avenger... by putting the second-place competitor in the ground.

Marvel Zombies: Dawn of Decay #2 is coming October 9 from Marvel Comics.
