Author Yoshihiro Togashi has crafted legendary manga series' like Hunter x Hunter, and recent social media posts from the mangaka give fans of both stories something to get excited about. The two franchises have seen a resurgence in popularity in the last few years, and newer fans who've caught up with Togashi's action-heavy but emotionally complex storylines received appealing updates, including news about Hunter x Hunter's return and an updated look at Yu Yu Hakusho's manga.
While the story of Yu Yu Hakusho concluded in the early 90s, it continued to grow in popularity, partially thanks to its incredible anime series. Togashi began releasing the Hunter x Hunter manga years later, and after several hiatuses, it's set to continue soon. The author's health has prevented him from consistently releasing chapters, but a stream of positive updates from Togashi's X proves that fans have a lot to look forward to.
Like in the past, Togashi's X has shared updates concerning the progress of new Hunter x Hunter chapters. He shares his progress by posting pictures of the page numbers of the new HxH chapters. It's assumed he is in better health because almost every day in July 2024, he posted images showing off the progress of HxH chapters as well as some newly colored artwork from the series and the Yu Yu Hakusho manga.

Hunter x Hunter Creator Teases More Chapters are Coming, so When Can Fans Expect Them?
Hunter x Hunter may finally be returning to continue Togashi's legendary story – and much sooner than fans could have ever expected.
July Has Been A Productive Month For Hunter X Hunter's Author
Yoshihiro Togashi Has Penned 400 Chapters Of Hunter x Hunter and 176 of Yu Yu Hakusho
Creating manga is an incredibly demanding career for any human being, especially for those who publish series weekly on Shōnen Jump. Hunter x Hunter released weekly chapters for a good portion of its first few years in circulation, but it's been releasing sporadically since 2006, with breaks lasting more than a year, sometimes longer. Severe and chronic issues with Togashi's back have been cited as the health issues most responsible for HxH's hiatuses, but the sheer amount of updates on the author's social media prove that he's feeling well enough to spoil his fans in multiple ways.
Besides the encouraging developments toward releasing new Hunter x Hunter chapters, the author has also been posting redrawn and recolored characters and artwork from Yu Yu Hakusho's run. While it might be too hopeful to think that new Yu Yu Hakusho content is in the works, it's a comfortable thought to know that the beloved series has been on Togashi's mind as he continues to work on new HxH chapters.
A newer Yu Yu Hakusho anime sequel short called "All or Nothing" was recently released including the return of the series' beloved voice cast.
Thirty Years Later, Yu Yu Hakusho Has More Fans Than Ever
There Are Currently No Plans For More Yu Yu Hakusho
Thanks to Yu Yu Hakusho being more available on popular streaming platforms and the success of Netflix's Live-Action adaptation, the series has gained more fans since the anime concluded. Compared to Hunter x Hunter, Togashi's Yu Yu Hakusho series lacks the complex power systems and the amount of profound messaging his latest series contains. While Togashi is continuing to evolve Hunter x Hunter's world, it's nice to know his health is well enough to allow him the time and energy to indulge in reminiscing on Yu Yu Hakusho, a series that continues to live rent-free in many long-time fans minds.
