For Jenny Slate and I Want You Back. Slate and Day star as Emma and Peter, two strangers who happen to get dumped on the same weekend. Fearing that their exes have moved on, Emma and Peter conspire to team up and win them back.

The love-lorn strangers scheme to sabotage their exes’ new relationships. Scott Eastwood stars as Noah, the supposed love of Emma’s life, who has moved on to dating Ginny (Clark Backo). Gina Rodriguez plays Peter’s old flame, Anne, who’s seeing Logan (Manny Jacinto), an artsy middle school drama teacher. Mason Gooding, Dylan Gelula, Jami Gertz, Isabel May, and Luke David Blumm round out the I Want You Back cast. Back in December, marketing for the rom-com began with the first  trailer. Now that the film's release is right around the corner, there's a new preview for audiences to check out.

In the new trailer from Amazon Studios, Peter and Emma bond over their shared heartbreak and unwelcome return to dating apps. The pair soon hatches their scheme over beers, with Peter plotting to befriend Noah (“Make him realize that I am the one that got away,” instructs Emma) and Emma attempting to seduce Logan. “I really think we can break them up in, like, no time.” Typical rom-com hijinks follow, including a ham-handed threesome and what appears to be a middle school production of Little Shop of Horrors. The new trailer for I Want You Back hints at some fun cameo appearances. A characteristically free-wheeling Pete Davidson assures Peter that it’s crack, not molly, that could make his heart explode–words that will surely inspire confidence in the straight-laced leading man. There’s also a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it turn from The O.C.’s own Ben McKenzie. It will be fun to see if the movie is hiding any more guest spots as a surprise.

I Want You Back is a return to form for Jenny Slate, who’s previously starred in off-kilter rom coms like Obvious Child and The Sunlit Night. The film, however, marks Charlie Day’s first leading role in a rom com. Seeing as even Day’s most absurd character–It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia–has become more layered and nuanced over time, the actor is sure to impress audiences in I Want You Back. The film hits Amazon Prime on February 11.
