Comedian Joe Gatto has announced his departure from Impractical Jokers. Gatto appeared on the hidden-camera reality show alongside Brian "Q" Quinn, James "Murr" Murray, and Sal Vulcano, the foursome making up the comedy troupe The Tenderloins. The show has become a worldwide hit, with live tours, international versions, several spinoffs, and a movie version of the Impractical Jokers antics helping to make the four boys household names across the globe.
Jackass, Impractical Jokers tasks are usually more about harmless tomfoolery than involvement with any extreme activities, the odd tattoo or two notwithstanding. The show has also boasted an increasing list of guest stars, season 9 notably including Jameela Jamil, who also happens to host The Misery Index, another show in which The Tenderloins appear.
Despite the unwavering success of the show, Gatto has now decided to part ways with Impractical Jokers to focus on his personal life. In an announcement made by fellow Impractical Jokers co-stars as well as the show's crew, stating that the "show is only possible due to the hard work of the talented crew who work behind the scenes." He rounded out the post with a hopeful look toward the future, adding that he is "excited to create new ways to entertain" his fans. Check out the full post in full below:

The comedian's departure will be as emotional for fans as it surely will be for those involved with the show. Gatto has always felt like the glue that held the group together, his quick wit and off-beat comedy style fundamental to the success of the Impractical Jokers. Despite the news coming as a shock, fans have rallied around the comedian, with Gatto's social media flooded with messages of following his difficult decision.
Gatto's departure is another blow to the future of Impractical Jokers. The latest season split filming into two halves to combat ever-changing restrictions surrounding Covid-19, as the show relies heavily on the involvement of the general public, which is something Impractical Jokers would have struggled to achieve due to ongoing health and safety fears. With Impractical Jokers season 10 already confirmed and likely already, for the most part, filmed, at least fans will get one last chance to see the Tenderloins all together, Gatto included.
