Chris Hemsworth has become a mainstay in multiple blockbuster franchises. After playing George Kirk in the 2009 film Star Trek, Hemsworth demonstrated that he could be a mainstream film protagonist through his debut playing Thor in the 2011 film of the same name. From there, Hemsworth was incorporated into both the Thor sequels as well as the mainline MCU Avengers movies. This role helped catapult him into other franchises, including Ghostbusters and Men in Black. This year alone, Hemsworth made his way into the Mad Max and Transformers franchises through roles in Furiosa and Transformers One.
Though franchises compose a portion of Hemsworth's career, he has also been in several one-off films. Some of these movies include projects with major directors, such as Ron Howard, with whom he worked on the 2013 film Rush. Not all of these one-off movies have been met with incredible reviews, such as the mixed-reviewed war drama 12 Strong. One of such titles will be arriving on a streaming platform soon, and the wait is not too much longer.

In the Heart of the Sea will soon find a new streaming platform. This film tells the story of a New England whaling ship sinking in 1820. It was this real event that later inspired the world-famous novel Moby Dick. In addition to Hemsworth, In the Heart of the Sea featured a leading cast including Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson, Tom Holland, and Ben Whishaw. The film received mixed reviews, getting a 42% Tomatometer. In the Heart of the Sea tanked at the box office, making $94.3 million against an estimated $100 million budget.

Why You Should Watch In The Heart of The Sea On Netflix
Hemsworth Shines In The Role
In the Heart of the Sea may have received mixed reviews, but the based-on-a-true-story adventure epic is still worth the watch. First, it is an interesting early collaboration between Holland and Hemsworth, showing the pair before they were Avengers together. It also allows Hemsworth to show off what he can do in a more conventionally dramatic role, without the bells and whistles of a superhero or fantasy film. I think Hemsworth does a decent job in this role, helping to ground the tense biographical piece.
