Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Insidious: The Red Door! The Insidious franchise is back, and there is an Insidious: The Red Door post-credits scene setting up more. The fifth entry in the Insidious franchise brings the Lambert family back to the focus, as Josh, Renai, and Dalton play prominent roles as the Lipstick-Face Demon resurfaces and another journey to The Further takes place. This is because Dalton begins to encounter the demons of his past after going to college, bringing Josh and his son back into the supernatural story. Insidious: The Red Door takes place 10 years after Insidious: Chapter 2, which was the last entry starring the Lambert family.

The Insidious movies have been consistent box office hits, which has allowed the franchise to continue to live on. After making two prequels based around Elise Rainer most recently, Insidious: The Red Door was announced as a chance to potentially wrap up the Lamberts family's story. The fifth entry follows Josh and Dalton primarily as they re-encounter The Further and attempt to put the literal demons of their past behind them. While the movie works as a way to end the Lamberts' stories, it also leaves the door open for the franchise to continue - including through Insidious: The Red Door's post-credits scene.

Now that the movie is out, it is confirmed that Insidious: The Red Door does have a post-credits scene. This is not the first time that the Insidious movies have included something after the credits. The original Insidious movie included an end-credits tease where the old lady demon blows out a candle. However, none of the sequels or prequels decided to include an additional scene or tease at the very end. Audiences can now sit through the credits to see the names of everyone who worked on Insidious 5 before seeing the Insidious: The Red Door post-credits scene.

The Insidious: The Red Door after-credits scene is a brief scene that teases how the franchise can continue. This comes through showing the newly painted Red Door, which is now black, light up again thanks to a ceiling fan. Although the movie concluded with Josh and Lambert seemingly painting the Red Door shut and leaving The Further behind them, Insidious: The Red Door's post-credits scene indicates that the franchise is not over quite yet. This might not be for a proper sequel that continues the Lamberts family's store but instead a way to signal to audiences that the popular horror franchise at large will continue.

Blumhouse has already confirmed that another Insidious movie is in the works. The sixth movie was announced in May 2023 starring Mandy Moore and Kumail Nanjiani and directed by Jeremy Slater. Thread: An Insidious Tale is an offshoot of the franchise, not a direct sequel, and follows a husband and wife as they use a spell to travel back in time to stop their daughter from dying, but it does not go as planned. Talks about a fourth Insidious movie following Josh and Dalton have mostly disregarded the chances of it happening, and Insidious: The Red Door's ending makes that a bit tougher to accomplish with how their stories end.

Insidious: The Red Door's Credits Include A Special Song Too

Even before Insidious: The Red Door's post-credits scene plays, audiences who stick around are treated to a special song as well. This comes in the form of star and director Patrick Wilson singing a version of "Stay," an unreleased single from the Swedish rock band Ghost. Wilson is ittedly a huge fan of the band and convinced them to record a special rendition of the song specifically to play during Insidious 5's credits. The song helps the time before the Insidious: The Red Door post-credits scene plays.
