That quick detail has now ushered a reaction from the official Twitter for Invincible. The , @InvincibleHQ, responded to a screenshot from the season 2 teaser, which shows Spider-Man, claiming to have no knowledge of what the screenshot is.

"I have no idea what that is!!!," the tweet reads. But viewers remain convinced that a Spider-Man and Invincible team-up could happen.

Invincible's Spider-Man Crossover, Explained

In the moment referred to in the Invincible season 2 teaser, the lead titular character (Mark Grayson) is scrolling through his phone. For a split second, it looks like he has the cover of Marvel Team-Up #14 appears on the screen. That issue is the one that features Invincible and Spider-Man teaming up. At this point, it could just be a small nod to fans since nothing is confirmed.

The team-up goes back decades. In 2005, Invincible creator Robert Kirkman was brought in to help revive the Marvel Team-Up series, which saw different characters interacting with Spider-Man. In the story, Invincible meets Spider-Man thanks to the abilities of Angstrom Levy. The villainous Levy has the ability to open up alternate realities, using those powers to send Mark to an array of alternate realities, including a crossover with Spider-Man in the Marvel universe.

Invincible season 2 will feature Levy, voiced by Sterling K. Brown, and it will explore multiverses. To add further fuel to the speculation, the show has cast Josh Keaton in an undisclosed role. Keaton has voiced Spider-Man in several different titles, most recently reprising his role as Spectacular Spider-Man for a cameo in Across the Spider-Verse. It remains to be seen, however, if the speculated crossover will happen.
