The Amazon Prime Video series Invincible shined during its first two seasons, and here's everything we know about the triumphant third season.

Invincible Season 2, Part 2's Trailer Revealed Alternate Sinister Mark Will Appear

One of the biggest reveals to come during the Invincible season 2, part 2 trailer is confirmation of a powerful, new alternate version of Mark Grayson who will appear. The trailer concludes with glimpses of Mark in a different costume, as he sports black lenses on his goggles and wears a long cape. While Invincible season 2 set up Mark's next costume, this is not the one that he will get. The suit is instead pulled directly from the comics, as it is the unmistakable look of an alternate version of the hero commonly known as Sinister Mark.

The character of Sinister Mark is different from the other alternate versions of Mark Grayson that Invincible season 2, part 1 introduced. This version of the character has a more tragic backstory, as someone killed Debbie Grayson in his dimension when he was young. His entire dimension is more evil than most, leading to Sinister Mark becoming the most powerful person on Earth and developing a taste for human flesh, turning him into a cannibal. He is an important character from the comics based on his role in Angstrom Levy's master plan.

Sinister Mark's Appearance Sets Up Invincible War For Season 3

Sinister Mark in Invincible season 2 part 2

Sinister Mark's appearance in Invincible season 2, part 2 is the latest sign that the show is setting up the Invincible War storyline for season 3. The comics told the Invincible War story over the course of several issues as part of Angstrom Levy's attempt to get revenge on Mark after seemingly killing him. Levy gathers up 16 alternate versions of Mark from across the multiverse and unleashes them upon Mark's dimension, watching as they wreak havoc in an attempt to draw out Invincible.

Although Sinister Mark is now confirmed to appear in Invincible season 2, part 2, the remaining four episodes are far too early for an Invincible War adaptation. It is more likely that this evil Mark variant will only appear in a brief sequence, possibly to aid Angstrom Levy. That would set up Sinister Mark to play a bigger role in Invincible season 3 while still potentially giving audiences a glimpse of an evil threat that is to come.
