The success of betrayed and attacked the Guardians of the Globe superhero team.
The battle served as both an encouraging and unfortunate introduction to what fans should expect from the show. On one hand, it foreshadowed the thrilling action and fight scenes to come. On the other hand, it abruptly eliminated what seemed to be a fascinating group of heroes — particularly, for fans of Wonder Woman, War Woman, who was the clear standout of the scene.
However, if the series stays true to the comic books, there’s every reason to believe War Woman will eventually return to continue "smashing heads and taking names" once more, albeit with one major difference.
War Woman Was The Best That The Guardians Had To Offer
Invincible's Short-Lived Powerhouse, Explained
Aside from the climactic battle with Omni-Man, the Guardians barely made an appearance in the Invincible TV adaptation. However, in a brief scene before the fight, viewers see War Woman’s alter ego, Holly —who appears to be a high-powered business executive – talking to a red-headed woman with green eyes, named Connie, about the company’s recent performance. When Holly receives an alert, she transforms into War Woman and flies off. This alert is the one that brings the Guardians together for their deadly confrontation with Omni-Man.

If Invincible Wants to Do Mark Justice, Then Season 3 Must Nail One of the Hero's Best Moments
Amazon Prime's Invincible animated series continues to rock, but to really shine, it must feature this iconic moment from the original comics.
Viewers did not see Connie again for the rest of Invincible Season 1, or all of Season 2. However, during a meeting of "the Order" in Season 3, Episode 5, a red-haired woman with green eyes is shown wearing War Woman's costume. She looks remarkably like Connie, the woman War Woman was conversing with just prior to the alert that led to her demise. This decision by the creators seemed perplexing at the time – at least for those who hadn't read the source material.
Invincible's Comic Book Source Material Holds The Clues To What The Show Has In Store For "Connie"

In Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker's Invincible #7, before flying off to meet the Guardians of the Globe on the fateful day Omni-Man attacks them, War Woman shares breakfast with a person unmistakably her partner. Notably, this unnamed woman bears a striking resemblance to Connie from the animated series, differing only in eye color. Although there has been no official confirmation that the animated series' Connie is the same woman who shared War Woman's last breakfast, the similarities are too striking to ignore.
War Woman reveals that after the death of her lover...suggesting that the Invincible adaptation just set up the exact same arc for Connie.
