It Diversifies A Popular Genre
Despite The Sims being one of EA's most beloved products, the life-simulator genre still has plenty of space for competitors. Many enthusiasts who have grown dissatisfied with The Sims 4's continued content drops and increasingly broken technical state are hoping InZoi is at least up to par with Maxis' franchise as it could help diversify the marketplace. Having some actual competition may even push The Sims to make some sweeping improvements to retain its massive but increasingly disillusioned player base.
InZoi could just be the real deal given the gameplay Krafton has highlighted through various trailers. Aside from creating hyper-realistic characters, players will also be able to find jobs, form deep connections with other Zois in the neighborhood, and "experience unexpected events to feel the various emotions life has to offer." InZoi doesn't yet have a release date but Krafton has confirmed that the early-access launch is scheduled for late 2024. As for The Sims 4, the game recently gained a massive popularity boost thanks to the The Sims 5 will ever see the light of day.
