Marvel has confirmed that Iron Fist season 2 is happening and will include the character Misty Knight. Season 1 of Iron Fist premiered on Netflix earlier this year, introducing both Danny Rand aka. the immortal Iron Fist (Finn Jones) and the character Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the process. However, prior to the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con, Iron Fist was the only one of the four solo Marvel/Netflix character series that had not yet confirmed to be getting a second season (or third, in the case of Daredevil).
However, the reveal that Iron Fist will continue on for another season - which happened at Luke Cage season 1, as one of the good cops of Harlem. She will also be playing a role in the first season of The Defenders mini-series, before she s forces with both Danny and Coleen in their respective corner of the Marvel/Netflix-verse.

Those who are Marvel Comics readers might also be familiar with the comic book history between Misty and Colleen - namely, that they wind up banding together and forming a crime-fighting team of their own, aka. the Daughters of the Dragon. It's not yet clear if the two characters will be forming said superhero-for-hire organization during Iron Fist season 2, but the inclusion of Misty will certainly pave the way for such a development to happen down the line in the MCU, if nothing else.
Similar to how Heroes for Hire spinoff series, based around Danny Rand and Luke Cage's own New York-based superhero business.
At this stage, not much else is known about Iron Fist season 2 beyond all that. Indeed, it's not yet clear whether or not season 1 showrunner Scott Buck will return for the show's sophomore outing, especially in the wake of the poor critical reception to Iron Fist season 1 and with Buck now running Marvel's Inhumans TV series (which premieres on ABC this September). Nevertheless, the news that Iron Fist season 2 will bring us one step closer to a Daughters of the Dragon TV spinoff is reason enough (for now, anyway) for fans to be excited about the prospect of the continuing adventures of Danny Rand and friends.
