Warning: contains major spoilers for Extreme Carnage Omega #1!

Marvel's Iron Man is best known for his incredible armored suits, which are capable of handling seemingly any situation. Recently, Tony Stark debuted a new type of armor that took notes from Marvel's symbiote, and this suit is now in the hands of the one villain who could exploit it and use it in the worst way imaginable: Carnage.

In Extreme Carnage Alpha, Tony Stark brought back his Extrembiote armor, which debuted during Marvel's King in Black event. It combines his typical armor style, Extremis, and a symbiote. This is ill-advised by Flash due to the combination straying so far from the typical bonding nature of hosts and symbiotes, but Iron Man doesn't take that note seriously. Now, it is far too late for him to reconsider his design.

Extreme Carnage Omega #1 has the creative team of Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Manuel Garcia, Guru Efx, and Travis Lanham. The issue sees Carnage put his plan into action - by executing Senator Krane using Krane's own son. During Carnage's assault, which is aided by some of the Life Foundation symbiotes, Iron Man comes in with his new suit. He is no match for his foe, however, and things end terribly. His suit is ripped away from him, right into the hands of the one villain who can likely make the most (and deadliest) use out of it: Carnage.

Thus far, the suit's capabilities are insane. Against the King in Black, it was incredibly useful and powerful. However, in this outing, it has failed utterly. It doesn't protect Tony, who is now in the hospital, and it doesn't do any serious damage to his foe. In fact, it may turn out to be the perfect power-up for the maniacal symbiote and his cutthroat crew. Carnage is deadly enough as it is without help. Now he has Iron Man's tech, complete with Extremis. He could also have a new symbiote to welcome into his ranks.

With Carnage's ability to call upon other symbiotes and present a broader conscious to interact with them in, this is a particularly dangerous situation to be in. Some of Marvel's deadliest symbiotes - such as Agony - are already teamed up with him. While not all of the universe's symbiotes are on his side, giving him another pawn to work with doesn't make Flash Thompson's efforts to stop Carnage any easier. In fact, it may make them harder. This could essentially turn into an Iron Carnage or Iron Symbiote situation going beyond what Flash and his friends have ever dealt with before.

Tony might have some protective measures in place, but having a symbiote attached to the suit is likely to throw those kinds of protocols out the window. Of all the mistakes Iron Man could have made in this situation, letting the Extrembiote armor fall into Carnage's hands is one of the biggest.
