The first trailer for MCU's Avengers movies.
While Doctor Doom is Downey's future, the MCU is not completely forgetting Iron Man. His legacy lives on in many characters, and Ironheart's cast of characters includes an MCU player that could be the perfect example of how Downey's Doctor Doom could go.
Ironheart's Villain Mirrors Doctor Doom In Some Major Ways
The MCU Series Is Going For A Different Kind Of Threat
Ironheart already broke a record before its release, having the shortest gap between the first trailer and series release for a Marvel Studios show. I have long waited to get a look at what is in store for the show, with Ironheart's villain, The Hood, being the character I'm most excited to see. Now that Marvel has released the first Ironheart trailer, I feel like my hopes for the character will pan out in the show, and The Hood is already similar to Doctor Doom in key ways.
While I do not mean that Anthony Ramos' Ironheart villain will lead directly to Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, I think that the characters have the same setup in of powers. Doctor Doom is well known for his technological expertise, crafting his Doombots. That said, Doom is also one of Marvel Comics' most powerful magic s. Ramos' The Hood follows that same path, with the character being rooted in both technology and magic.
The Hood's MCU Introduction Can Help Set Up Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom Debut
The New MCU Villain Debuts One Year Before Downey's Victor Von Doom
In the Ironheart trailer, we see both sides of the villain that the MCU's Iron Man replacement will face. At first, Riri Williams will be working with The Hood. The trailer starts by showing us how The Hood seemingly sets up a test for Riri to before he can offer her a role by his side. The Hood might not be seen crafting any gadgets or toying around with tech in the Ironheart trailer, but by setting up the test, we know he is tech-savvy.
As for the magical side of the character, that is more clearly spotlighted by the first Ironheart trailer. We see The Hood use his magic skills a couple of times, with him disappearing at will and his bullets having a glow to them. I believe The Hood could be the perfect template of how Marvel Studios can bring a character that pairs off magic and technology so well, like Doctor Doom, to life. With The Hood debuting a year before Doctor Doom in the MCU, audiences can be prepared for what the character entails.
The Hood's MCU Story Teases Have Already Made Me More Excited To See The Franchise's Doctor Doom
Victor Von Doom Shares Three Huge Elements With The MCU TV Show Villain
While we have not yet seen much of Anthony Ramos' The Hood, his mysterious role in the show already has me excited, as The Hood and Ironheart are going to work together before becoming foes. Based on how we can see him offering her money and promising Riri's dreams of being recognized can become real if some dubious acts are committed along the way, I believe The Hood is going to be an exciting manipulator to follow.

Based on how intriguing Marvel Studios is making The Hood seem, I'm now even more excited for Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday. Given how Victor von Doom has the same face as Iron Man, I have been thinking for some time now that he will use that to manipulate the MCU's heroes into doing his bidding, perhaps sending them to fight Fox's X-Men. The Hood is the perfect template for Doctor Doom, with his interest in technology, magic abilities, and manipulation techniques making the Ironheart villain what I hope to see from Doctor Doom.
