The Umbrella Academy leaves Reginald's fate up in the air, but he could exist in the new timeline we see in the series finale. Reginald was alive before the Hargreeves were created by the Marigold he released into the world. Depending on how far back the timeline resets, another variant of him could still be walking around in the reset timeline. This would presumably be a variant of Reginald we haven't met yet, as the Hargreeves' original father and the one they meet in season 3 are likely dead.

The latter death is never confirmed, but Reginald and Abigail are last seen facing the massive beast that Ben and Jennifer merge into. Knowing what becomes of that universe in The Umbrella Academy season 4 — and seeing how unstoppable the monster is — it's probably safe to assume that version of Reginald met his end. Of course, with no confirmation, it's possible he's the one who makes it back to the main timeline at the end of the series.

If any version of Reginald survives the Cleanse, he'll have a very different life than the one we see in The Umbrella Academy seasons 1-4. Reginald spends much of his life training superhumans and scheming to bring Abigail back. Without the Marigold creating the former, he'll likely never have those adoptive children — and he certainly won't raise them to be superheroes. Reginald may still be science-minded and powerful, but his days will look incredibly different. Perhaps it will even force him to move on from his tragic Umbrella Academy backstory.
