Xenoblade Chronicles representatives in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The Nintendo Switch is only missing Xenoblade Chronicles X, which is one of the few remaining Wii U exclusives, and many speculate that it will receive a port in time.

The events of the Xenoblade Chronicles games are connected, but it's easy to enjoy them all in isolation without feeling like major story elements have been skipped. The story of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is set in Aionios and it involves a conflict between the nations of Keves and Angus. The people of Aionios only live for ten years and the never-ending conflict means they spend most of that time in battle. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will act as the ending for the story that began in Xenoblade Chronicles. The Xenoblade Chronicles fans of the world needn't worry, as there are more entries in the series to come. The developers of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 were interviewed by Xenoblade Chronicles 3's July 29 release date, and the question of the future of the series was brought up. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 co-director Genki Yokota is adamant that the series will continue, even if the current story is drawing to a close.

Finally, I would like to ask Yokota-san a question. You mentioned that this title is the culmination of the series, but am I right to assume that the Xenoblade Chronicles series will still go on?

Yokota: Yes, it will still go on! I want to keep it going as long as possible!

Like the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series, Xenoblade Chronicles could move to more self-contained stories that have nods to the previous entries. The series has also used a number of outlandish concepts that combine fantasy and science fiction together, so there are many directions for the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise to go in future installments. There was a time when there were doubts that the original Xenoblade Chronicles would receive a release in North America, but it has grown into a huge JRPG franchise and it will hopefully prosper for years to come. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is concluding the current story, but the franchise will continue in the future.
