Yokota: Yes, it will still go on! I want to keep it going as long as possible!
Like the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series, Xenoblade Chronicles could move to more self-contained stories that have nods to the previous entries. The series has also used a number of outlandish concepts that combine fantasy and science fiction together, so there are many directions for the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise to go in future installments. There was a time when there were doubts that the original Xenoblade Chronicles would receive a release in North America, but it has grown into a huge JRPG franchise and it will hopefully prosper for years to come. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is concluding the current story, but the franchise will continue in the future.
