Warning: Contains spoilers for Kindergarten Wars chpater #102.At the height of its popularity, one of the best current Shonen Jump manga, Kindergarten Wars, is suddenly heading toward its finale. Kindergarten Wars is a manga serialized in Shonen Jump’s Shonen Jump+ app centered around boxed crooks working at a kindergarten to work off their sentences, and with a combination of great action and even greater comedy, it’s been a major hit with fans and critics from day one.
Kindergarten Wars has always been a fun series to read, but unfortunately, its time in the spotlight is coming to an end. Kindergarten Wars just concluded its biggest and most dramatic arc yet that completely upended the status quo, and going right along with, it’s been confirmed that Kindergarten Wars’ next arc will be the final arc of the series and will start on March 27 following a brief hiatus. With how big Kindergarten Wars had been getting, it’s certainly sad to see it go, but at the very least, its ending should still be a good one.
Kindergarten Wars’ Final Arc Explained
Everything To Know About Kindergarten Wars' Final Arc
In Kindergarten Wars chapter #102, despite Kindergarten Noir’s best efforts, the New World Order managed to kidnap Lyla, and to make matters worse, Doug left Kindergarten Noir to the New World Order, although it’s implied he’s trying to both protect Lyla and help Kindergarten Noir in his own way. Following that, the truth of why Lyla was so important was finally revealed: Lyla is the clone of Lyla Carter, a mad scientist who created a powerful weapon of mass destruction, and the New World Order wants to use Lyla to restart the original Lyla Carter’s work.
Despite the major revelation, Rita remained resolute in her mission to protect Lyla and the rest of the children, and she even came up with a plan to do just that. Whatever that plan was is unclear, but two months later, Kindergarten Noir has relocated to New York where Rita and the rest of the staff continue their mission and their fight with the New World Order, all while the mysterious leader of the New World Order tells his subordinates that it’s time to fully reset the world.
Kindergarten Wars’ Ending Is Disappointing, But It Will Still Be Great
Kindergarten Wars suddenly ending is nothing but a tragedy. The series was always a great addition to the Shonen Jump lineup thanks to its strong action and writing, and with rumors of a Kindergarten Wars anime circulating, the series will only get more popular from here on out. Kindergarten Wars entering its final arc means there’s only so much time left for it to get the recognition it rightfully deserves, and that’s disappointing for old and new fans alike.
That being said, the actual ending is unlikely to disappoint. Series creator You Chiba stated that the final arc will be a long one, thus ensuring that there will be proper closure for various plot threads, and with how great the writing has been so far, Kindergarten Wars’ final arc will hopefully have the time and care put into it to give as great an ending as possible. There’s plenty of potential for Kindergarten Wars to have one of the best endings for a Shonen Jump manga in years, and with any luck, it will perfectly live up to that.
