James Bond Cuts Loose In New Dynamite Series

While there have been many variations of Bond thanks to the different actors portraying him in the films, not many of them have dealt with the oft-times brutal violence found in the Ian Fleming books. New writer Garth Ennis has expressed a desire to return to the classic literary Bond, and already 007 has racked up quite a body count during the course of his new series. It’s a fitting approach from the writer of The Boys, Preacher and The Punisher MAX series, and Ennis and Lobosco show Bond dispatching his enemies with clinical, targeted precision.

The new James Bond 007 comic series also marks ten years of continuous publication of the franchise for Dynamite. In spite of being one of the biggest franchises in the entire world, James Bond has been largely absent from the comic book world for most of the series' lifetime. Whereas major brands like Star Wars and Star Trek have numerous comics to their name, the comic book offerings of Bond have been pretty minimal. Fortunately for 007 fans, Dynamite has kept Ian Fleming’s most famous creation on the comic racks with alarming consistency, more than making up for the previous lack of comic book adventures.
