Who is in the Venezuelan telenovela show Juana La Virgen. It follows the title character Jane Villanueva, a virgin and devout Latina Catholic in her early 20s living in Miami, Florida who discovers she’s going to have a baby after being accidentally impregnated via artificial insemination during a routine appointment with her gynecologist.

Jane The Virgin aired for five seasons on The CW between 2014 and 2019 and earned praise for its Latina-led cast and satirical take on the telenovela genre. Shortly after its season 1 finale aired, the series even scooped a Peabody Award – which honors excellent storytelling that addresses pressing social issues – for its genre-spanning format and focus on topics such as immigration, religion and class.

Gina Rodriguez – Jane Villanueva

Gina Rodriguez leads the Jane The Virgin cast as its protagonist Jane Villanueva, a 23-year-old virgin who falls pregnant following a mix-up at a gynecology clinic. The series follows Jane as she adapts to motherhood and saw Rodriguez scoop a Best Actress Golden Globe for her performance.

Andrea Navedo – Xiomara Villanueva

Xiomara Villanueva is Jane’s mother, a young-at-heart character who had Jane when she was 16 years old and has a more laidback attitude than her daughter when it comes to religious morals. She’s played by Guiding Light and Law & Order - where Jill Hennessy's Kincaid was shockingly killed - actress Andrea Navedo.

Rafael Solano – Justin Baldoni

Baldoni is otherwise known for his recurring roles in The Bold And The Beautiful, but in Jane The Virgin he plays Rafael Solano. He's the accidental biological father of Jane’s child who, to make matters even more awkward, is both Jane’s employer and her teenage crush.

Petra Solano – Yael Grobglas

Solano is Rafael’s Czech Republic-born wife whose decision to trap Rafael with a baby after their marriage falls apart inadvertently leads to Jane’s virgin pregnancy. Petra is played by Israeli actress Yeal Grobglas, who’s also had roles on shows such as Supergirl.

Ivonne Coll – Alba Villanueva

Veteran Puerto Rican actress Ivonne Coll plays the part of Xiomara’s mother and Jane’s grandmother Alba Villanueva. She’s often the voice of reason in the Villanueva household and her struggles as an undocumented immigrant form a major part of her Jane The Virgin character series arc.

Jaime Camil – Rogelio De La Vega

Rogelio De La Vega is Jane’s long-lost biological father, an egotistical telenovela star who reunites with his daughter in Jane The Virgin season 1. He’s played by Mexican actor Jaime Camil who earned two Critics’ Choice Award nominations for his performance in the series and has also appeared on shows like BoJack Horseman.

Brett Dier – Michael Cordero Jr.

Otherwise best known for his roles in Ravenswood and Schooled, Canadian actor Brett Dier plays Michael Cordero Jr. He is a detective and Jane’s boyfriend when she discovers she’s pregnant by modern-day immaculate conception at the start of the series.
