The Matt Damon played Jason Bourne in the first three movies, before returning in the fifth and final movie, Jason Bourne.
With such a big franchise, it is unsurprising there are plenty of familiar faces cast in the Bourne movies which may have been forgotten. Characters such as Julia Stiles’ Nicky Parsons and Joan Allen’s Pamela Landy appear in multiple Bourne movies and are quite connected to the franchise, but some actors only appeared in one Bourne movie and have such a large filmography that their role in Bourne has been forgotten. Others appeared in smaller roles and have now gone on to become household names.
10 Brian Cox
Brian Cox appeared in The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy as Ward Abbott, a CIA section chief and one of the few who knew about Operation Treadstone. Ward Abbott was the main antagonist of the first two Bourne movies, and it was revealed he was the traitor who conspired with Yuri Gretkov to steal the CIA seed money. Cox has appeared in plenty of blockbusters, including Braveheart and Rise of the Planet of the Apes, but he is currently starring as Logan Roy in HBO’s Succession.
9 Karl Urban
Before starring in the dark comedy Superhero series, The Boys, Karl Urban appeared as Kirill in The Bourne Supremacy. Kirill is a Russian Secret Service assassin whose mission is to kill Jason Bourne in The Bourne Supremacy. As part of Gretkov’s plan to steal the CIA seed money, Kirill chases Bourne throughout the movie and supplies plenty of action. Urban is best known now as Billy Butcher in The Boys but is no stranger to the silver screen, with roles in Star Trek, Thor: Ragnarok, and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
8 Michelle Monaghan
Michelle Monaghan also appears in The Bourne Supremacy as Landy’s second agent, Kim. It is only a small role, but as Landy’s trusted CIA agent Monaghan has a fair bit of with Bourne. Since becoming more of a household name, Monaghan has starred in movies such as Made of Honor and The Best of Me, as well as appearing in the Mission: Impossible franchise. Monaghan most recently starred in the Netflix drama series Echoes, where she played both twins Leni and Gina.
7 Jeremy Renner
The Bourne Legacy is the fourth installment of the Bourne franchise, from which Matt Damon is noticeably absent. Jeremy Renner took over the lead role as Aaron Cross. The Bourne Legacy was not well received, becoming the lowest-grossing installment in the franchise by grossing $113.2 million domestically (per Hawkeye in the MCU, but with Damon’s return in Jason Bourne, Renner has quickly been forgotten as the lead of The Bourne Legacy.
6 Edward Norton
The poor reception to The Bourne Legacy unsurprisingly leads to more major actors being forgotten from the franchise, including the main antagonist Eric Byer, played by Edward Norton. Norton’s Byer was a retired Colonel working for the Department of Defense and in control of secret operations in which the leak of Treadstone and Blackbriar posed major issues for, such as the Outcome project. Byer was on a mission to kill the new Jason Bourne and eradicate any evidence, making him the major villain. Norton is best known for movies such as Fight Club and the first MCU Hulk but has more recently starred in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
5 Rachel Weisz
4
Rachel Weisz is also one of the stars of The Bourne Legacy, playing Dr. Marta Shearing, a virologist on the Outcome program who is in charge of the enhancements done to the Outcome agents. When Buyer wants to eradicate anything to do with the Outcome project, Shearing must escape with Cross while trying to find the virus to sustain Cross’ enhancements. Weisz is famous for her role in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, but also has a range of movies including Fred Claus, and has recently ed the MCU in Black Widow.
3 Oscar Isaac
Another MCU star who appeared in the Bourne franchise is Oscar Isaac, who had a small role in The Bourne Legacy. Isaac played Outcome 3, another agent on the same program as Cross. Outcome 3 is in a remote cabin as punishment until Byer sends a remote drone to kill Number 3 and Cross, with only Cross surviving. Number 3’s death is the start of the audience seeing Byer’s plan to eradicate anything to do with Operation Outcome, so Isaac’s role is small. However, he has since starred in Moon Knight as part of the MCU, and in movies such as Scenes from a Marriage and Dune.
2 Tommy Lee Jones
Matt Damon returned for the fifth and final installment of the Bourne franchise, Jason Bourne, much to the delight of fans, and Jason Bourne did not hold back on its cast. Tommy Lee Jones played the main antagonist, Robert Dewey, a CIA agent responsible for the death of Bourne’s father, Richard Webb. Although only appearing in the final movie, Dewey is revealed to have been a major villain throughout the entirety of the Bourne franchise, and once again tries to have Jason Bourne killed. Tommy Lee Jones has quite the filmography and has starred in movies such as Double Jeopardy, The Fugitive, and No Country for Old Men.

Asset hunts down Bourne throughout the entire movie, until he is killed by him. Cassel’s filmography is a mixture of French and American movies, and he is best known for his role in Ocean’s Twelve and Ocean’s Thirteen, as well as roles in Black Swan and Shrek.
