opus, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, capitalizes on the film's divisive place in pop culture consciousness.

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot features the return of Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith's iconic, stoner characters, who first appeared in 1994's Clerks. In the buddy comedy/road trip film, Jay and Silent Bob learn that the rights to their names have been sold, and the pair must make a cross-country trip to "Chronic-Con" to stop the production of Bluntman v. Chronic, a film that features their names and characters based on their likenesses. Every movie in Smith's filmography includes pop culture references, and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is no different.

Few superhero films have been the subject of the kind of intense discussion that Batman v Superman has, with Ben Affleck himself itting that he didn't realize Batman's iconic status until after he took the role. Four years after its release, debate about Batman v Superman continues, and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot drops references to the movie and the debate about it.

The movie's first notable reference to Batman v Superman comes through Jay and Silent Bob's quest to travel to Chronic-Con to put a stop to the production of Bluntman v Chronic. Based off Holden McNeil's (Affleck) Jay and Silent Bob-inspired comic book characters, the title is an obvious play on Batman v Superman.

When Jay and Silent Bob encounter Holden at ChronicCon, he comments that he previously felt like the focus of his own story akin to "A Bruce Wayne of one life-long issue of Detective Comics." However, he now feels that parenthood brings with it the realization that "You're not Bruce Wayne anymore. You're Thomas Wayne, or Bruce Wayne's mom, whose name escapes me," with Holden then giving a sly look directly into the camera. This is a clear reference to the "Martha moment" in Batman v Superman, when Batman realizes that Superman's mother is also named Martha.

Holden makes a more tangential reference to Batman v Superman after Jay and Silent Bob's departure, referring to himself and Amy as "The Just-Us League." The actual Bluntman v Chronic  at the convention also shows footage from the movie, in which Bluntman fires a grenade that emits a green mist when Chronic catches it, directly paralleling Batman's use of Kryptonite gas grenades in his fight with Superman. Additionally, another segment of Holden's conversation with Jay and Silent Bob plays over the end credits, with Holden commenting that "Affleck was the bomb as Batman, yo." Jay enthusiastically replies, "Word, b---h! Batfleck like a motherf---er!"

Of course, Batman v Superman is hardly the only comic book movie to be the basis of Easter Eggs within Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. The original Batman v. Superman's cultural resonance.
