One of the core gameplay aspects in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is wall running, but how to wall run and when Cal Kestis gains access to the ability might be something new players are curious about and returning players don't . Wall running is a crucial point of traversal in the game, and Cal will have to use it throughout the game through a fair number of platforming sections. It is also critical to finding new areas and collectibles, so knowing when the wall running is unlocked is vital.

Jedi: Fallen Order allows him to wall run, but that connection is deeply damaged at the start of the game due to the events of Order 66. This means that players will have to be a little patient as they wait to learn how to wall run, and they can focus on honing their lightsaber skills in the meantime. Players will come across the wall running ability in a story section of the game.

How To Unlock Wall Running In Jedi: Fallen Order

Relearning Old Tricks

To get Jedi: Fallen Order's wall running ability, you will have to play through the Great Divide on the planet Bogano. When first arriving at the planet, it may be tempting to try to wall run at certain spots - perhaps to reach unopened boxes or unexplored areas - but you will have to be patient. Jedi: Fallen Order's wall running ability is naturally unlocked after exploring approximately a third of the planet and reaching a point where Cal's former Master, Jaro Tapal, appears in a flashback sequence.

In the flashback, young Cal will learn how to wall run, and after you complete that task, you'll gain the ability to wall run in Jedi: Fallen Order itself. When you unlock the wall run, it is actually quite easy. All you have to do is run at a wall with ridges on it and jump; Cal will immediately begin running along the wall. As you reach the end of the wall, pressing the jump button again will allow them to jump off without breaking their run.

You can also wall run up the canyon Cal Kestis was previously facing to find a Dark Souls Easter Egg.

After unlocking Jedi: Fallen Order's wall run, it's recommended to turn around and head back the way Cal came to discover a shortcut into the vault Cere wants Cal to enter. Since Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is strictly story-based, players should know that some abilities come in time and can't be unlocked simply by acquiring skill points. There is a lot of backtracking on planets in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and wall running to reach places you couldn't previously is one reason you need to keep a sharp eye out for hidden areas.

Wall Running in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Do Skills Carry Over?

Cal Kestis from Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's key art in front of a landscape from the game's new planet, Koboh, showing a valley surrounded by rocky cliffs.

As a sequel to Fallen Order, it would be pretty disappointing if Star Wars Jedi: Survivor did not include the ability to wall run in some capacity. Thankfully, wall running was shown off early as being included as part of the game. However, initially, it was unclear when Cal would gain that ability and what abilities Cal would keep across the games. Fortunately, Cal kept his abilities and Force progression from Jedi: Fallen Order to Jedi: Survivor, allowing him to learn new abilities and improve on older ones.

Wall running was no exception, as within the first few minutes of Cal's time on Coruscant, he is already employing the ability to navigate the city streets, and no unlock is required. Cal can continue his journey and find his way off Coruscant in Jedi: Survivor without worrying about that platforming skill. The fact that the wall running ability, among others, carried over is one reason why this game is such an excellent sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order.
