Jeremy Allen White's Bruce Springsteen Casting Is A Worthy Follow-Up To The Iron Claw
White's Starring Role In The Iron Claw Didn't Give Him Much Screen Time
Despite White's screen time being reduced in favor of ing Efron's lead performance as Kevin Von Erich, White still delivers a strong performance.
Jeremy Allen White will play Bruce Springsteen in a biopic that will give him a much bigger role than in 2023's The Iron Claw. Although The Iron Claw is a powerful film that benefits from many strong performances of its principal cast, White's Kerry Von Erich was a ing character. As such, White didn't have as much screen time in The Iron Claw as his co-star Zac Efron, and his character showing up around the midpoint of the film didn't help matters either. In White's Springsteen biopic, he'll be the star, which will effectively give him more screen time.
Despite White's screen time being reduced in favor of ing Efron's lead performance as Kevin Von Erich, White still delivers a strong performance. Additionally, his chemistry with Efron, Harris Dickinson, and Stanley Simons effectively makes The Iron Claw one of A24's best films. Since The Iron Claw is based on tragic, yet real-life events, it was necessary for his character not to have as much prominence as many might have hoped. While White's Springsteen biopic will see him as the star, The Iron Claw still proves why White's movie could do well.
White's Iron Claw Performance Is A Great Sign For His Springsteen Biopic
Jeremy Allen White Still Delivered A Memorable Performance Despite Its Brief Length
The Iron Claw perfectly demonstrated that White can embody the essence of the real-life people he's portraying, which allows him to deliver performances handled with warmth and grace. Although White never had an opportunity to meet the real-life Kerry Von Erich, he was able to portray him in a way that made the surviving Kevin Von Erich proud. With Springsteen still alive, White can meet with him, which should give him greater insight into his performance. Furthermore, the Springsteen biopic will provide Jeremy Allen White with the perfect role to illustrate his feature-length leading actor skills.
